The more time that passes the more it appears the XJT pilot group is being played once again.

False rumor...

I think guys starting in the 11/27 class were hired as late as April or May 2006. A class or 2 seems to chew through 5 months of the seniority list.

What does it matter when the United announcement is? United has to balance one regional’s need against another. United isn’t going to screw their customers in the short term just to benefit Xjet. As long as there is a bid for 175 pilots in the next bid period, that means the 175 program is moving forward. And, a United announcement isn’t required to meet the terms of the TA, only a signed CPA for 20 175’s. The public United announcement could be done just before the 175’s start coming online.

As far as CPP movement, a friend who's a 2013 hire FO is in the CPP and he expects to go sometime late next year assuming consistent UA classes.

If United buys ExpressJet outright, and it implements a flow like the American regionals, United will implement United’s hiring and training standards at the ExpressJet level.

At least at 40%, you are ahead of Mesa’s 23%. And, Mesa doesn’t consider the CPP a joke. Mainly, because our CPP is down to 5 years of seniority and continuing to head south.
The other airlines that have flows from their WOs have the same types of pilots with various histories. That’s the problem with a straight flow, that the ML carrier obligates itself to pilots it wouldn’t otherwise hire.

The fix for that is to have a VERY stringent probation period that will most likely weed out the problem kids. They might have to do a flow someday. I don’t think we are there just yet.

There is some truth to this. But I think as time goes on, you will see the requirements to flow at the airlines with WOs become more stringent.

I think that's a very unstable rack on which to hang a hat. What used to be conventional wisdom is:

'I'll believe it when I see it on the ramp'

This industry's history is littered with broken promises..
