They should send them a photo of the PQI Crash and be done with the conversation.

Technically it was an off-airport landing :p

But as long as no one dies, legacies accept an occasional hull loss as part of the cost of economical feed.

And they will not, don't lose any sleep over that. OO isn't going to add a new cert for an old type they've never flown before.

To be pedantic, they landed at the airport. They just didn't land on the runway...

I'm a C5'er and am very tempted to let our MEC know I'll be very unhappy if we give up anything to survive. Our contract is bad enough (and worse when the LOA expires), and I'll be damned if I save my job by selling out the industry. I can't force the company to give us something new but I can refuse to give up what we already have.

The legacy XJT pilot group has always been the first to stand up and say NO to concessions, setting the tone for regional industry contract negotiations as a whole. See every contract negotiation and vote since Contract 2004.

BUT, things have changed and unfortunately I think the vast majority of the legacy group that voted no in the past has moved on. This leaves a bunch of non legacy XJT lifers and new hires that may tilt the ship, unfortunately, in the wrong direction. Good luck to all!

person I quoted said Skywest did over half of UAX 50 seat flying and had 180 CRJs for United. Was just showing the numbers

I venture to guess that UA doesn’t care about 145 or 200 - only pilots get all excited about their toys.

What UA needs is a 50 seat operator for the eastern US. With SKYW having closed ATL and LGA it is likely not gonna be them.

Let's be clear here: ExpressJet management claims that's what UAL told them (hearsay). UAL hasn't said anything directly, and to my knowledge this statement has not been corroborated by Commutair.

Today it’s we need only one 145 operator
Tomorrow it will be we need only one 200 operator .
Then we only need one 175 operator.
They will continue this crap until everyone accepts concessionsry wages to help them save $$$$$$$

People keep forgetting that people are just not taking to the skies. Who knows how long it will last. Somethings gotta give, there isn’t an indefinite supply of money for these companies to pay labor and stay alive.

Do XJT pilots get profit sharing?
