Default What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

I can't type. I'd rather not know for now.

Are there any "rumors" of other ExpressJet domiciles coming online?

The non-information campaign continues. Get used to never knowing what is going on and having no one in management let you plan your career here at asa/xjet.

Whiney pilots want to know where they are supposed to be living in three weeks! What is their problem?!... Thanks for all you do! or my personal favorite; even though we are losing two airplanes to get one we have to tell you that this growth couldn't have come without your hard work! hahahaha

What do you expect them to do? Give them bases and then change it weeks later when the system bid is complete?

Also, we traded 66 planes for 34 and then found homes for 22, so its just a small loss....for now.....

Only losing a few for now is the calm before the storm. Legacy ASA is going to shrink and become another Comair. Unfortunately, start-ups like Go Jets will get all the flying. Don't believe me; look at what is happening in ATL on the 6N ramp area. Silver Airways is quietly expanding their operation by flying old ATR routes for Delta. There were a couple of turbo props a few weeks ago and there were four on that ramp when we got to the gate the other day. When Delta receives the MD 717s from Air Tran and the CRJ 200s go away, there will be down grades and furloughs. I’m getting my Type and getting the heck out of here. Not going to be one of those poor saps that sit right seat for 10 years and see the airline go out of business because they can’t compete on cost with Delta backed start-up airlines.

I disagree. Gojets likely won't expand unless someone else buys the planes and subleases to them. They are a cheap low quality operation that has little economy of scale. Delta has a very small marketing partnership with Silver. Don't see it getting much bigger. American has an RFP for 255 large regional jets. I think Skywest Inc will get the lion's share of that RFP due to its access to favorable aircraft financing(junior labor groups like GoJet doesn't mean everything). I believe Skywest Inc's regionals are in the best position to thrive.

I think a lot of the 200's will come from Pinnacle. As a whole the regional industry will shrink as larger regional jets will be used, but I think there will still be markets for 50 seaters, and the drawdown will be slower than most think. We've already got our foot in the door with grabbing some American feed; I bet there is more to come, and that we will be players for that. Remember the cost savings of the merger are not yet full and the economies of scale of SKYW inc. helps us when it comes to the whole 50 seater dilemma. I tend to think we will be players in the future...Our situation and Comair's are two completely different scenarios.

My problem with our company is the unbelievable amount of lifers. We have tons of '97-00' hires here...Seriously guys, GOOOOOOOOOO.
