45 FO's have already updated their standing bid list to DFW. I was hoping it would go Junior!!!

I think it would be optimistic to assume that 300-400 of the 1500 return. Remember if you think about: UAL guys that went to CAL, some lost medicals, some retired, some out of aviation all together, and some happy at whatever carrier they are at now. Thats a lot to consider among 1500 pilots.

There's gotta be an error... there are 1600 and 1700 numbers from the master list that are listed as CRJ CA in current position column...

Viewing the standing bids doesn't give an accurate read for whatever reason. I found myself on that list but DFW is my second choice. Wish SKYW IT had a better system so we could get a realistic look at how people are bidding.

unfortunately it's about as accurate as the award process is as well... even with the prelim awards, those are worthless too

Yeah, if you have a position on your bid sheet you'll be on the list for that position. Never mind that you have 3 other positions listed ahead if it. It makes it very difficult to forecast how vacancies will shake out. Thankfully they do preliminaries once a position notice is out.

I've only been here a year and I'm pretty convinced there will never be any movement. The low turnover rate is astonishing. I'm honestly expecting a 7-8 year upgrade. Hopefully if/when the floodgates open up there won't be a PIC requirement because the the top 30 percent of both lists probably aren't planning on going anywhere.

I don't agree at all. The turnaround has been slow (almost non-existant on CRJ side) because no majors are actively hiring yet. I'm from ERJ side, IAH FO, and the overwhelming majority of people I talk to are actively trying to leave. Yes, there are lifers here, but I wouldn't say it's 30% of the total pilot group. In IAH maybe there are, it's the most senior CA base and a lot of them are too comfortable, some too old to move on. Still, I wouldn't say 30%. ORD, EWR are big bases and I don't think there are more then 5-10% of lifers there. I spent 1 year in ORD and flew only with 2 CAs that openly admitted they were not interested in leaving if a chance arose. I haven't yet found an FO to claim that. I don't have any statistics to back it up, I'm just saying what I see on the line. I also know quite a number of CAs who had class dates with Continental back in 2008 that were cancelled and they all are getting a chance to come back. I know many will take the opportunity and they'll be in the first classes starting next month (United is hiring 48 a month indefinitely starting in November). I don't know too much sbout the CRJ side so please don't "slaughter" me for a bit of optimism.

ATL probably has the most lifers, considering everyone that wants to move will only go to Delta and considering Delta's legendary 2010 hiring tactics no one will be going anywhere anytime soon.
