I don't agree at all. The turnaround has been slow (almost non-existant on CRJ side) because no majors are actively hiring yet. I'm from ERJ side, IAH FO, and the overwhelming majority of people I talk to are actively trying to leave. Yes, there are lifers here, but I wouldn't say it's 30% of the total pilot group. In IAH maybe there are, it's the most senior CA base and a lot of them are too comfortable, some too old to move on. Still, I wouldn't say 30%. ORD, EWR are big bases and I don't think there are more then 5-10% of lifers there. I spent 1 year in ORD and flew only with 2 CAs that openly admitted they were not interested in leaving if a chance arose. I haven't yet found an FO to claim that. I don't have any statistics to back it up, I'm just saying what I see on the line. I also know quite a number of CAs who had class dates with Continental back in 2008 that were cancelled and they all are getting a chance to come back. I know many will take the opportunity and they'll be in the first classes starting next month (United is hiring 48 a month indefinitely starting in November). I don't know too much sbout the CRJ side so please don't "slaughter" me for a bit of optimism.
When it comes to Captains, ASA side is a lot more senior than XJT. Capts on this side have been generally been here more than 10 yrs, making 90k+, with decent schedules, have families, homes in ATL etc. They aren't going anywhere that has been hiring recently. However that may change when UAL starts hiring next month and especially if they get a contract with some kind of liveable first year pay like DAL

There will be massive attrition starting mid-summer next year. If you are here a year or so, you will rocket up the list, if you stay.
