WHY is our "union" giving contract waivers AGAIN? Unforeseen circumstances? GMAFB. The effective date is JUNE 1. Shortening the bidding time solves nothing, except relieving the poor girl who screws up the prelims from having to do her job. Attaboy ALPA. Way to be lap dogs again!
Little birdie told me our MEC will also be giving them relief on the ready reserve grievance. Their backs must hurt from all the bending over they do.

Ready reserve grievance is about what constitutes an assignment, being notified and on your schedule or actually showing up to the airport as a ready pilot.
On the 5 day thing, get over it. As pilots we are always evaluatin the other options, now that we have a deadline to pull the trigger make up your minds and move on. My father was once given 20 minutes to decide whether or not to move his family 800 miles.... 5 days is pleanty.

That's all well and good for your father, but that's beside the point. We have a contract that needs to be followed. Our union has a history of letting the company get away with things. Do I need more than 5 days? No, but that does not matter. It is in the contract.
