[QUOTE=gazoo34;1433920]I have been hired by XJet and I am excited to start. I would like to know the sched and how the living/duty days will be during the training. I understand it is "dual" occupancy and the training is in Atlanta. Any advice would be helpful.

ERJ training in Houston. Crj training in Atlanta. Are you going ERJ or CRJ? Unless things have changed recently CRJ is single occupancy. Not really sure about ERJ.

CRJ is single occupancy in ATL.
ERJ is double occupancy in IAH.

Welcome to the party!

Should have a joint contract soon (giggle). take the class that has the base you want now. Worry about each contract side later. But yes CRJ single. ERJ double.

Oh brotha

Shouldn't this be info you would want to know BEFORE you accept the job? This is how I know there is no immediate threat of a pilot shortage. People work their butts off to get qualified for the job and just accept it. That was all fine in the past when your chances of making it to the top were pretty good. Now the top is more of a little carrot with gold colored paint dangled out in front of you.

What's to keep ATL CRJ from going double occupancy if no one cares and just takes the job?

Voting yes to dual qual reduces required total number of pilots across the system. That is going to reduce number of pilots the company needs to hire to replace people leaving for better places and to adjust to new FD/DT. It is in most pilots' interest to vote no on dual qual, as it will slow down your progress up the seniority list.

*unless of course the company offers something mind blowingly good in exchange of it. Which probably won't happen.

You would be surprised at how many people will bite at something as measly as a $15 turkey coupon. Or an automatic 10 starbucks points if you vote yes. Sold!
