So basically the careers of all the FOs left languishing at XJT are in a flatspin... Sounds like there will never be any further upgrades on the CRJ side (Jan upgrades delayed until at least March while they're paying them as captains per the contract)

Not unless we vote yes

(p.s. I'm voting no)

But seriously, that's a new one on me

No. I had heard that before. Last week, walked through FlightSafety and looked through all the sims. No changes

I think they put that on there as scare tactics to show that other carriers are getting the new planes so that we will be scared into voting for this crappy TA.

IMO the scare tactics are only for the senior pilots.

With or without this TA, the majority of FOs at XJT, especially on the CRJ side, can go to Compass, Mesa, TSA, and now PSA and upgrade much faster.

If you're stuck at a stagnant regional with no hope of upgrade, it's a very good idea to chase upgrade. Ask the ex Comair guys that came here and the ones that went to TSA.

First, starting over at a regional is easier said than done. Going through training, new hire pay, probation, reserve and enduring 1st year pay again at a REGIONAL absolutely sucks!! Been there, done that, and I can tell you it is not fun and I never want to do it again! I could have applied and gone to Colgan, Mesaba, Republic, CommutAir and all the quicky upgrade time places at that time, but look where they are now? The only guys I know that upgraded "quickly", as in 1.5 yrs or so where the ones that went to CommutAir. They make about $5 or so more an hour as CA than I do as FO and work under a far worse contract than we have, and guess what? They all have their magical 1000 TPIC time, but DL, UA, AA, etc. hasn't called them to offer them a job. I wonder why? Oh yeah, there are thousands of other qualified CAs who have 3-5000 hrs of TPIC.

The reason i didn't even think about applying at Colgan, CommutAir, etc, was because if sh!t hits the fan again, you are stuck with crap pay and crap contract or you can go start over at another regional and chase that upgrade again. I applied and interviewed at Compass a few years ago, but was not offered the job at that time.

Yes, TSA, Mesa, PSA are all growing, getting new shiny jets, but that can all change in a heartbeat and look at their contracts and work rules... Crap!

To me, enduring crap pay and work rules that significantly affect my QOL in "hope" of a quick upgrade simply isn't worth it. I'm not whoring myself out anymore and there is more to life than flying airplanes.

This is my opinion only and everyones priorities are different. I look forward to moving up a number when Trip7 quits and goes to Mesa or TSA for his quick upgrade.

"Compass Road Shows Detail Contract Enhancements

The Compass Airlines MEC and Negotiating Committee have hit the road to detail the terms of their new six-year contract, holding a series of road shows in MSP, SLC, and DTW this week and next. At the shows, negotiators are explaining how they were able to bargain for significant gains in their contract language despite negotiating in a concessionary environment for regional carriers overall.

In addition to pay raises, the new contract includes increases above the industry average in vacation day pay and minimum-day credit. The agreement also preserves an industry-leading 401(k) vesting schedule and has numerous scheduling improvements, including advancements in minimum days off, better reserve rules, and an agreement to implement a long-call reserve system.

“We were able to accomplish all this in just over one year from the amendable date of our previous contract by using a mediation/arbitration process,” said CPZ MEC chairman Capt. Dan Schultz. “The Compass MEC would like to extend its gratitude for the dedicated effort put forth by our entire negotiating team.”

Because the final items of the CBA were determined by an arbitrator, the CPZ contract did not require ratification. It becomes amendable in 2020."

I do not see any reason for anyone to accept anything less than contract improvements at this point.

You do realize that their TA is still not comparable to ours on a lot of items.
