They didn't finalize the last DC9 rotation until two months prior, and they swapped equipment from MD88 to DC9.

All I have to say is thanks Brad! We knew the 'wind down' speech was coming and its good to have that out in the open now. While we're being honest Brad, why not recognize that our new TA is not likely to reduce costs enough to be competitive with Go Jets, Mesa or Endeavor regardless. Or why not admit that Skywest Airlines will get improvements to their 'contract' that will match the new TA (if it passes) and Skywest Airlines will somehow still be less expensive than ExpressJet.
I guess it's good to know where we stand!!

We all knew the scare tactics were coming and we have seen it before. So Brad, thanks but no thanks. In the end at least you got yours. Pathetic!
Leading by example is an unheard of concept among corporate America. It will be better to stand together and send a message with a resounding "NO" to INC and to its puppets.

From our leader:
On a final note, some of you have asked if there are plans to wind ExpressJet down. I can say without hesitation that was never the plan; but, if you look at the chart above, it’s clear that if changes are not made here that bring us more in line with our competition so that we are able to renew our fleet, we will shrink very rapidly over the next few years. The goal has been and still remains to work together to get ExpressJet on track and grow. I’m confident that we can do that by working together to become competitive and continuing to deliver on our commitment of running a safe, high-quality operation.

Ain't skeer'd still voting no.
Hey Brad, maybe you should lead by example and return that $600,000 raise you got this year.
But if you can't run an airline without pilots financing future growth, than by all means shut it down. 90% of us will be gone in 5 years anyhow.

Well said.

What kind of scare tactic is winding down the operation? Majors are hiring like crazy, wide majority of XJT pilots are sprinting for the door, classes are becoming harder and harder to fill, and multiple other regionals (Mesa, TSA, Compass) have 1 year or less upgrade time.
