One terrible question. What if the routes we are discussing aren't necessarily replacing AE flying out of San Juan or Miami, but are actually replacing some of the AA flying from Miami to the islands or South America or Central America? I fear this may be the case!!! (I truely hope I'm wrong!)

ExpressJet's parent company spent tons of money getting the CRJ700's at OO ready for "overwater" ops a few years back. There are still flip cards in the planes today. Pilots all had to pass a computerized test on the ops limits and requirments too... all for "hopes" of using them somewhere.

Not saying either way if this rumor is true. Just saying not all that glitters is gold.

The most junior line holder in IAD and DTW (same assumptions) are probably April 2011 and March 2011 respectively. I looked at the seniority list and pilot assignment lists and very roughly figured about 18% reserves to come up with these numbers, except for Atlanta, which I approximated from my August bid.

Reserve is not bad if you live in base.
Thanks everybody, didn't even occur to me home based reserve probably isn't so bad...

Alright guy you've made your point perfectly clear your think ASA doing any American flying is ludicrous and it will never happen. Who is to say its eagle replacement flying and not part of AA diversifying their regional feed? Just because you fly at eagle don't get so butt hurt and wound up about our company rumors.

Yes they probably are trying to get rid of the 50 seaters. In the mean time why would they not go with someone cheaper? Again I'm not saying this is all true or not, won't believe until I see it but things are pointing that way.

Rumors are rumors, there is nothing that I can do to change the way the individuals appointed to make decision in the airline wants to do the flying. All I can do is show up fly the airplane the way the company wants me to and comply with the CBA! If you guys get "eagle" or "AA" flying good for you guys bad for us long term and short term.

Agreed, it does suck. For an airline that's never competed for contracts (correct me if I'm wrong), I would expect you to be more costly per block hour than one that has competed. American put the flying up for bid, and SkyWest Inc. did just that.

With all the pay and contract cuts they're proposing from eagle, I don't know how anyone could be cheaper. It's garbage.
