Concessions is an open statement. The ERJ guys are saying that PBS is a concession, only because they want the ability to intentionally bid high credit trips that conflict with vacation and/or training, which will be dropped and pay protected.
While I agree that it is nice, I don't think that should be able to be done. Maybe it's just my work ethic, but I believe you should work to be paid, not get paid not to work.

The closer you are to 1:1 flight to credit hours, the worse your contract is.

Concessions will not prevent this airline from shrinking. And when I voted "no" on the JCBA it was a "no" to that agreement. Don't just assume that 83% are OK with losing their jobs.

So if they were to come back to you with the exact same TA and say "vote this in or we'll shut you down" (ala Pinnacle) it suddenly becomes an acceptable deal?

Good thing I didn't assume that, or say anything about everybody losing their jobs.

The time we are compensated for is a fraction of the time we spend away from home at work. The whole idea is to reduce that disparity by increasing the credit-to-block ratio. I think that was the point he was trying to make.

The point of working is to make money. Looking at myself as if I were a business, my profit is MMMTO. My cost is TAFB.
While the decision to make money via aviation may not have been the good one, no one gets into a job PURELY for the love of the job. It's a bonus, sure, but if I have to be poor at home, there isn't a point.
