Sucks to be a contractor huh?

Hope mainline gets more flying back, if only to thin the ranks of disgruntled lifers who ruin "One Level of Service".

I just got a call from HR department asking me if my family and I are ok, since my home of record is in midwest near flood zone. I am impressed. This didn't happen last year when the river I live near by almost flooded. Seems like the new leadership is taking steps to steer this company in the right direction. I hope it wasn't too late.

It's just Delta trying to sweeten the pot because they're getting desperate to fill FO seats at 9E. I expect to see more of this stuff popping up here and there. Delta doesn't just do this stuff for DCI carries out of the kindness of their hearts.

This is an irritating memo to read, it makes commuting that much harder. At least we retain our S3 priority on XJT aircraft. What really is annoying is that Delta Private Jets employees also enjoy better travel priority. Thankfully, at least Delta Private Jets pilots cannot ride on the Delta jumpseat. Wholly owned is wholly owned I guess, after all, ASA did board S3 for awhile back when we were owned by Delta.

Funny how some people forget that little part. There's so much more things a little more important than the priority I get on a Delta flight. You cannot change how mainline decides to do something. Why get bent out of shape for something that you have no control over?

Speaking of something we have control over, let's work together to get a good contract.

ETA: Yes, I'm a commuter.

And that's called double dipping. When something it dropped and still paid for it, then you pick something else up and again paid for that, it's not the same. Sorry.

But the corresponding pay rate would probably be higher. Same with maximizing time off with vacation. You may not be able to do it with certain contract rules but the trade off would be a higher pay rate. For example, my contract has a B fund. But the only reason why is because the company didn't want to have a high pay rate in the book. Is having a B fund also not having work ethic?

But the ERJ hourly payrates are among the very highest 50 seat rates in the industry. Unless I am wrong, only Air Wisc is slightly higher. (And they don't have B Fund, vacation add pay, etc.)

Actually, ERJ hourly payrates are not among the very highest 50 seat rates... SkyWest , Air Wisc, L-ASA got higher pay rate on the 50 seater... Eagle (Envoy) got almost the same pay scale. The only 50 seat airline with lower hourly pay rate is TSA (I am not counting Chautauqua as they won't fly them for long).
