Quote: The reason people take what you say seriously is because, like you said, they know who you are and they know that for some reason, you're in a strategic ALPA position. Flamebait is one thing when you're a random internet loud-mouth, but it can be destructive and devisive when people take your statements to represent the opinion of ALPA leadership or of ASA pilots as a whole.

Quote: They aren't your planes, they are owned by United. They will find someone to fly them cheaper
Uh... that plan has about run its course.

Look, I'll spell it out for you. United is topped out on large RJs. If Continental couldn't afford to lose all these 50-seaters a few years ago, then certainly United can't afford to lose them all now. United and SkyWest, Inc. will find a way for pilots with a more industry competitive cost to fly the greater sum of these 100+ aircraft coming off lease. I put 1 and 1 down for you, try to add it up and see if the answer is still 2.
Quote: As for PBS, the XJT MEC offered to weigh the vote equally in order to decide which PBS survives after a pilot vote.
ALPA's attorneys have determined that would indeed be a violation of ALPA's Constitution & Bylaws. But thanks for bringing us last month's news. As usual.

The guy I flamed was trolling and you know it.

You guys want me to stop going online to defend our side from the idiotic attacks their side sends Nevets and his buddies to make? No problem.

Right now we (L-ASA) are under attack. Our QOL (quality of life) is under attack. L-XJT will do anything to keep their outliers, and lately their tactic has been to sell our PBS (and the QOL it gives us) for their outliers, by offering the company a system they know will save the company money at the expense of our QOL. Not only that, they have made a concerted effort to bring this fight directly to the L-ASA pilots, telling them only one side of the story. If you like your PBS and your QOL, it's time to support your MEC and let management know. Because right now, they're telling management we don't care and will take anything. They're claiming the ASA pilots don't support the MEC.

I'm out here fighting for you. I'm sorry if you don't like my tactics. Please feel free to replace me, and I'll gladly go back to my cushy flying job.

so far 10 ERJ's have come off contract... all United signage and logos are gone.. 6 have been flown to Kingman for storage. I'm sure the rest, as they are parked, are headed to Kingman as well. Even heard a few have buyers lined up already. United sure seems to be doing a good job of finding other pilots/competitive companies to fly them! Maybe you're right... but so far it doesn't seem that way.

The ones flown to Kingman for storage aren't all the crappy EP models either.. Ive seen an LR or two parked now as well.
Here's what's funny Tony, I just came from a meeting last week and outliers were discussed. Our guys readily admit LTD and some others are going away, and explained why.

Then we talked PBS and it sounds like you guys will accept nothing other than Flightline. So there is a disconnect here on who is telling the truth.

Oh and at the end of the meeting we all put on war paint, marched around the airport Hilton parking lot with pitch forks, and burned Captain Tony in effigy to show how militant we are.

Not really, but there was bottled water and cookies.
Lxjt doesn't want FLIGHTLINE because they'd sacrifice QOL. LASA doesn't want smartpref because they'd sacrifice QOL. Something is fishy here. I think with the right work rules either one would work. Bottom line is, I'm not sacrificing QOL or compensation to work here.
