EXPRESSJET ERJ Furlough Announcement
November 30, 2017
Sisters and Brothers,
As you know, the Company made the unfortunate announcement today that they will be furloughing 68 flight attendants on the ERJ side of the operation.* We are hopeful that this will be temporary but the eventual duration of the furloughs is unknown.* The impact will greatly depend on the ERJ flight attendant attrition rate along with how quickly we will begin adding in the additional ERJ 145s into our fleet for UAL.* The rate in which we are able to add the ERJs into the fleet is directly related to pilot staffing so the exact timing is uncertain right now.
However in an attempt to mitigate this blow, we have negotiated a preferential hiring opportunity for those affected that will secure not only a job opportunity but also no loss in pay or benefits.* The preferential hiring opportunity will provide the option for furloughed members to be hired under the CRJ contract to work in LGA, ATL or DFW while maintaining ERJ pay and benefits.* Whether you choose this option or not you will be recalled back into the ERJ system as soon as there is a vacancy.* If you choose to exercise such option, your CRJ seniority date for bidding will be January 1, 2018.* In addition, we were able to negotiate a more lenient commuter policy, which allows for commuting on any airline.
Make no mistake about it; our goal is to achieve a joint contract and a combined seniority list, which we have indicated to the company on several occasions.*

Rumor on the LASA side is that CRJ-ERJ transitions have been put on hold. Apparently there is... wait for it... an attrition issue on the CRJ side which is putting the fulfillment of the DAL contract in doubt.
But good news is coming.

It looks like United is putting cash into XJT. I cannot comment into where I see this. But, the same thing happened to keep Colgan/Pinacle afloat at the end before they slit their contractual throat. The difference is that Pinnacle was asking for help from UA because the Q and the crash was killing them financially. We have not asked for that help, if it is indeed being received. The bonus will have to come from somewhere though. Also, negotiations are happening and Endeavor has set the bar high on hourly pay. Game on....

Didn't they try this already with the whole "Rumor has it" clown show they rolled out last year? I recall seeing one or two from the puppet in ATL, and then all went silent.
