I don't know why people get all excited over this new rumor. You do realize they can acquire a percentage of equity and not the whole entity. Just reference CommutAir, UA owns 40%. If they buy less than half (controlling interest) they won't need FA approval. Also like Commutair, it doesn't mean money is going to start instantly flowing to XJT pilots (it's not). So nothing to get excited about. There will be no flow (UAL Alpa said it themselves, they want to retain control). If I were a betting man I'd say we'd probably hear by year end. Just as a hypothetical betting man ;-)

120 vacancies in ATL will be awarded on 11/21/2017. I expect a similar vacancy award in late DEC or early JAN.

We are also picking up the 3 700s earlier in 2018 than originally planned.

Just info for anyone considering the move in order to stay in ATL. I have no idea how it is all going to shake out. I'm not sure if the company is going to populate ATL with new-hires or make everyone do the NYC shuffle. LGA/JFK are now one combined base.
On the newest vacancy award a 9E classmate got an award for NYC CRJ200 Captain. He hasn't even set foot in a sim yet. We are October 2017 new-hires.

The most junior ATL Captain award went to an August 2017 hire date.

I see the benefit as more of a lifeline than for a flow. If UAL owns 40% of XJT, it’s less likely to go out of business than Skywest owning 100% of xjt.

We won't make it thru 2018 if there's no incentive. Plain and simple. Flow through or a ton of money or both; otherwise United will be parking a whole bunch of RJs that they own. Commutair can't staff em and idk how Air Whisky is doing. If XJT was bought by anyone who isn't Skywest, this place may actually have a chance.

At one time Expressjet had approximately 4,000 pilots with ASA and Expressjet combined. Today we have a total of approximately 2,000 and rapidly shrinking. When January hits there will be a ton of people leaving after the bonus pay outs. Look for downgrade announcements late January.

Assuming those LOAs include medical, military, etc. How many are specifically on employment leave?

Wow is that it? I know we "staff on block hours" but only about 5 erj crews per plane (assuming 90ish) that seems low. Lower if it's more than 90. I'm not sure how many we have active.

Edit: Well I guess that's still close to 10 pilots per plane. Maybe that's what it was.
