No Concessions.

No concessions? But but but I thought we had to give something to get something?

Keeping TI out of ALPA national has nothing to do with it. Two separate things. You could’ve had TI become president and the membership ratification still fail. ALPA presidents simply sign on the dotted line IF a TA is ratified. He has absolutely no power over individual contract negotiations, AIP turning into TA, MEC sending TAs to ratification vote, or the vote of a pilot group. He is just a bystander.

That might be just a selected few who ha those options. What about the majority who probably didn’t? Again, would had rather be in their position given the level of uncertainty?

All,
Let's stay on target, Our Contract. YES this pushes up the bar. If we don't loudly tell our MEC reps we will not settle for less than the best with no concessions it will be our fault. And clearly, our ask just went up, and the NMB mediator and the company knows it..

Stay Focused, Stay on Target. Start calling your reps.

Cool story bro. So you would not have been sweating getting 3 warn letters? Wondering if uncle sugar was going to save your job? Thankful the pilot group that voted you 30 hrs of pay if uncle sugar didn’t show up? Looking for a job because every news source said it was going to be a years long recovery?

Your friends were prudent yes, acting like it was no big deal? GTFOH and pound sand. You have no idea what it was like to be here, and I wasn’t even in the UNA, but I was displaced because of the whole fiasco.

Good luck with your contract, I hope the bar we set helps (and the rejection of UALs and AAs bad attempt as well).

Thanks for adding some clarity for those who think it was all roses. Meanwhile during Covid most of our pilots made 300 credit hours a month or more voluntarily extending or doing draft/ava and vacation buy back. Many also saw break neck career progression while many at the pax airlines dealt with reduced line values, downgrades, furloughs or voluntary leaves.

I like pay rates as much as anyone but I like my retirement even more. I also like line bidding, our vacation and our work rules. Delta made some good gains but based on what I have seen many areas still lack from what we currently have. My eye is still on the A plan retirement prize while still expecting substantial pay increases.

Happy for those guys. My point was not to down them but to say it was unfair to FedEx, ups, etc. I would be requesting a check equal to what the Feds dishee out to everybody else who then used some of that $$$ to carry freight that would have been on our jets. Again. Happy for the guys but if I was FedEx I’d make sure I got the same amount. Put it away for a rainy day, you know, like the ones coming here after December if nothing else. Hope they “rescue” us when this crap sandwich hits the fan in a few months…,

When you say most of our pilots made 300 credit hours a month, nothing after that has any credibility.

Anyway, the amount of gain Delta made is important for my expectations. Pre-AIP, their costs are X with millions in profit and they got ALL gains and NO concessions! So their costs are going up commensurate with the new agreement. And FedEx pre-AIP had costs at X and made billions in profit. So if Delta can afford that increase in cost with less profit…so even if you don’t think their stuff isn’t as good as ours, maybe we shouldn’t sell ourselves short. After all, management tells us all the time that we operate in the most difficult system form. So shouldn’t total compensation be higher than any legacy?

Everyone needs to understand there is an unprecedented in living memory labor shortage happening. This is not standard business cycle stuff. It's the reality of the waning of the baby boom population bomb. You may think no one wants to work but in reality there's simply not enough folks available to enter the workforce at this time to replace the rate of those leaving.

This gives all of US power to demand a bigger slice of the pie.

the powers that be know it but they're hoping we're all too stupid to realize it. Years of conditioning folks to believe their work was a little valued commodity and you should be greatful for having a job.

Congress just passed a law imposing a contract on a workforce. What they fail to understand is you can make them accept a labor agreement but you cannot force them to stay. They can and will leave if there are other options.

I say all this to say value your time. It is the most valuable resource any of us have and by extension your labor is very valuable. The delta AIP proves there are gains to be had and there's more if we're just willing to demand it.
