Question Separate APC Profile for Vista?

Will do, LJ,

By the way, is there a “Chase” (The former SWA pilot that got hired at XO and put out such great, informative posts on this thread about life at XOJET ) on here from VistaJet? There is so much great information about the XO side on here (including the Profile), but such a dearth of knowledge about the Vista side.. Chase, would you or anybody else have any similar info on Vista? Your descriptions of life at XOJET were very informative and well written.

Thanks..

Just realize that XO and VJ both go through the same prescreen, interview and Indoc. It’s after Indoc (training, IOE, etc.) that the experience diverges.

Read all the information you can. Take everything in and do your own analysis.

My insider view: I wouldn't choose to be at any other 135 (or 91k) operator right now for many significant reasons. However, nobody knows what the future holds. XOJET's company and culture has already changed drastically from a year ago. This buyout/merger is making it a different company. Only time will tell if the changes are for better or worse.
This.....truth!

there is not one XO pilot who holds any Animosity or anything towards the vista guys. We’re all on the same team now like it or not. Personally I enjoyed the XO culture but it looks like that will be changing.

What Dash misses is it was essentially one list that any employee could have viewed at anytime. I know cause I looked and as 3-4 year guy only 4 vista guys would have been senior to me not a big deal if your adding 8 planes as everyone’s relative seniority would have risen.

Outside looking in it looks shady but they kept the scales different so the vista guys could keep their per diem that paid like 14-16k a year to which I don’t blame them. Remember speaking to a lot of them that didn’t want to lose that. I don’t know who wronged Dash but if the company really wanted to screw the Jet Aviation guys they could have fired and hired all of them at year 1 again. It’s also funny he blames guys over 5 years as the two main negotiators are under 5 years on property.

Yes sir, JMO,

I see that Chase is on the XO side of the house, and is posting his experience on that side. What I’m wondering is if there is a “Chase” over on the Vista side who could post similar information on Vista? Information on Vista is much harder to come by on this Forum and elsewhere than XO.. Seems like Vista deserves a “Chase” to get the word out and a separate Profile in the 135 section.

Thanks.

Ahhhh. That's my fault. I read that incorrectly. I'll see what I can dig up. I do know that most of the vista (Jet Aviation tranfers) are extremely happy. Better work rules and a CPO that stands behind them and doesn't constantly threaten them with their jobs if they dont feel it's safe or their best interest to complete a flight. Just from what I hear on the line and a few friends I've made along the way from the VJ side of the house.

Default No campaign, no hurt

Thank you for acknowledging the truth aspect of the post.
There is no vendetta or premeditated desire to hurt XOJet. In many ways, (Safety and Standards) I believe they are the cutting edge of the 135 on demand charter world.
When it comes to exceptionally nice people, they have set the standard. Let’s see if the move to FXE will sustain and continue the “culture.”
Is the culture changing? Well , yes, XOJet is going to uniforms, silver jets, and has a new managing owner calling the changes. XOJet was on the market for at least 18 months until Vista Malta (Mr. Flore ) came along with a highly leveraged buyout to get a US Certificate owned by XOJet that was for sale.
The Jet Aviation pilots were forced to re-interview and some were not retained.
My post highlighted that XOJET CR is a very clandestine operation with virtually no rumours or information. They had no representatives on the Roundtable ( changing), and should have some input.
While this will drag on the XOJETCR pilots were not even respected enough to explain why the XO Jet pilots were getting pay raises and the newbies were getting an extra week of vacation along with a $5000,00 pay raise.
My point is, this will further cause separation in attitudes and loyalty to the company.
Management is bringing XOJet closer to Vista with uniforms and paint and interior but putting a firewall and not merging the pilot groups. Look what Global and CL350 pilots can make in the industry. They will bail or go to 121.
In fact, the Vista US/XOJETCR pilots were not even respected enough to see the Pilot Roundtable agreement with management. They had to ask their XOJet friends to send it to them.
so, in summation, this is a company in flux. A lot of great things if you are on the XOJet side. Not so much on XOJETCR. The future is 121 unless you have a reason they don’t want you. Part 135 will continue to consolidate and fail paralleling the economy.
If you want Part 135 don’t consider it a career unless you have hiring issues and you like the lifestyle with limited pay, benefits and retirement!
please, ask a lot of questions and don’t be a FANBOY!

The 5000 dollar a year raise was just for the tier 1 co-pilots. I believe that was earned and should come along. Underpaid still? Yes. Coming in with all the time you need to upgrade is a huge bonus for the company with the attrition. If I was told it would be a 4 year upgrade and I was stuck at 75k for those 4 years I would never of applied. Knowing upgrade can happen in 1 year or less was my basis for taking this job. I took a significant paycut to come to XO, but I knew if a major never called I would be happy working for them for years to come. Culture is slowly changing, and we will see where that lands. Knowing I’m going to a vista uniform (I’m on the 300) doesn’t make me too happy, but this is how it is. I don’t know much about the CR side of the house. I know we are all a team and good things can only happen if we act like one. CR is getting representation on the round table and that is a great thing. What the round table did is good, but not the best. We took a hit with loosing Atlantic bucks and fuel savings. The “bonus” does not compare to what those two things paid out per year. It’s aviation. Give it time. It will change. All companies do. I’m happy to be with XO. Love the flying. Love the job. LOVE my set schedule. 135 will NEVER be able to match what a large 121 can do. That’s just it in a nutshell.

Thanks JMO,

Any information would be appreciated... Hey, how come there’s so little Vista information on here anyway? It’s crazy that there’s more public information on MAG/AVELNGE/L3 ISR flying.... Crazy, huh?

Thanks again for digging.
