How about dealing with TSA while commuting*? Are XOJET pilots considered Crew by the TSA? Can you use the crew screening line at airports and carry your liquids/gels/etc. the way that an airline crewmember can? Obviously, I would not expect Known Crewmember access.
*I know you don't "commute" in the typical airline sense of the word. It's not really deadheading either, so maybe "passengering"?

So does this mean all of the 121 airline crew procedures apply (you're able to take your liquids of any size, do not need to remove non-metallic shoes, etc.)?

Yes all of the crew regulations apply. They are not only for Part 121. The TSA Rules are for air crew of air carrier or air taxi. They do not apply for Part 91 or 91K crews however. As long as the air carrier is TSA approved you are fine. Some TSA Checkpoints do question it because they are unfamiliar with the regulations. In such cases, I have shown them the certificate approval on the badge. All they need to do is turn it over and actually look at it carefully.

This info is a little more than a year old, so it might of changed but that was the info I got last time I spoke with them.

I've been doing the same for close to a year now with no internal recommendation and haven't heard a peep.

There are a few, including myself, who have been hired without internal recs. In my case I was at the right place at the right time, after updating monthly for three years.
At the moment there is a list of about 100 guys/gals with recommendations waiting to be called for an interview. All I can say is to keep updating and hope for the best.
