That's too bad the 10/5 schedule only applies to folks with 18+ months on property and everyone else gets the 12/3. Someone correct me if I have this wrong.

What a bummer! They'll get you rescheduled for another round of interviews.
Good luck!

Some will view it as unfair. Will those same folks feel that reserve for 18-24 months at an airline is unfair? Or the probationary period, or probation pay, or crappy Sked and commuting while on reserve, or the seat locks they apply? They forget that all other companies utilize the same type of ops/procedures.

It may not be the "best" that some want, but the 10/5 is a huge step in right direction.

A buddy of mine got called for an interview and they told him there is an 18 month training contract now. Is this true or did he just hear wrong?

Some miscommunication there. Training contract is 12 months, 18 months is the trigger point to move onto the 10/5 as a PIC.

What spot is your buddy interviewing for?
His quals?
Congrats to him.

True but at most places (especially airlines) a better schedule goes with seniority/longevity. This is a good incentive to hang around, maybe.

I agree with beer 100%. Stop paying new hires more than people who have been grinding it out for months...years. I heard FO pay for street captains until they get released is now in effect.

Let the senior guys have some perks. It will also give the newbies something to look forward to.

It was very demoralizing to have guys hired in at equal or often times MORE pay than senior pilots. This, in particular, gave me little incentive to stay with the company.

My buddy interviewed recently for an SIC spot and was very impressed. Any idea as to what direct entry captain pay would be on the Phenom 100 or 300 (or the King Air for that matter)?

You will receive SIC pay from hire date till you are released as a PIC (following your 293/297).
Then you will shift to the pay rate for your plane.
Payscale for EAS
SIC 36K
PIC
C90 48K
350 58K
100 64K
300 80K

A little clarification to my post above.
A PIC will assume the appropriate PIC pay upon completion of his/her 293 or 297 as applicable. One doesn't have to be "released" as a PIC.

Also, CJ pay is 72K. I didn't include that in the previous scale.
