The same 5 people saying the same sh!t over and over. We get it; you’re a no vote. The management sucks, and your union fell short, but to vote this down and think you’re somehow gonna make huge gains on the next go-around is stupidity. You might make some small gains, but who knows how long until the next TA. Will those gains be worth it? I’d take it, and make damn certain you replace your union reps. Now you’re back in the game. Next time, go for huge gains. PS, the duration is a killer. Still scratching my head on wtf your union is thinking on that.
Go ahead and calculte the total loss of being last place in perpetuity over a 40 year career. This isn’t about the 18 months it “might” take for a TA2, this is about the FACT that voting in bottom to bottom offers puts you, you guessed it, at the bottom for as long as F9 decides to keep the group together.

Negotiating environments change, managements change, pilot groups change over time with generational culture shifts etc.

And if you accept a substandard contract now, you are setting the stage for substandard contracts moving forward. Every. Single. Cycle. Forever.

Here is another argument I have also been hearing:
‘Our current contract is so horrible, and we are SO far behind everyone else, that we have to accept this now, and we’ll get the rest next time.’
GUESS WHAT? Our current contract was brought to us by the ‘Yes’ voters of yesterday, including the ridiculous long duration.
We will always be at the bottom if we keep agreeing to a contract that is at the bottom!!

See the recent Alaska arbitration. The arbitrators specifically stated 2 main reasons for putting them below the legacies as far as pay goes. 1) Size of the airline. 2) The fact that the airline’s previous contracts had them making less than their legacy counterparts.

Sooner or later you gotta say “No” and correct the cycle. Or you never do. And you stay at the bottom... why doesn’t the fear of being perpetually last not trump the fear of taking that chance? I’m still not buying the argument of losses from sayin no - the company already agreed to $75 million in back pay. If TA2 takes a year to get worked out, part of TA2 needs to incorporate the additional time that it took and include more back pay. We all understand that longer negotiations mean more back pay. This really isn’t that hard.
Honestly, if you’re at this airline for less than 6 years and this TA gets approved, it’s still worth it $ and QoL wise to try and get hired at a legacy and start all over. That’s pathetic...
