Thanks for the reply and all of the info!

Is there any information about an upcoming Meet the Chiefs event in Orlando? I remember seeing something about it and a buddy of mine was asking for info.

What does the current timing footprint look like for Training? If you start say on April 1st, how long till you are done and can you bid a monthly schedule (during training) for the period of time after your training ends?

You’d take your check ride end of May. Weekends off, and possibly longer breaks during sims, depending on that specific schedule. Now after that there’s no telling with OE schedules.

Besides the obvious of study being a priority, would it be worth the effort to bring snow sport equipment to training? Is there a reasonable chance of getting a day or two to hit a mountain? Also, what are the chances of getting MIA sims, is that a rare occurrence, or something frequent? And on that note, ballpark of when during the 2 months of training is the sim portion?

You'll have a couple days off here and there...usually weekends. There's usually a decent gap between the oral exam and sims as well.....4-5 days depending on the schedule you get. MIA sims aren't common and usually go senior as they cover hotel/travel costs, unlike the Denver sims. You and your sim partner will bid for sim schedules early in the training footprint. The most senior of the 2 of you (age based) will bid and that's how sim schedules are awarded in the training classes.

Schedule off the top of my head: About 3.5 weeks of ground school followed by 6 FTD’s, oral exam, 8 sims, checkride, loft. Total time probably averages about 8 weeks as you will bid on different sim schedules with different exam dates. (disclaimer: this very well may have changed since last year but I expect its somewhat the same)

You’ll have weekends off in ground school and days off during sim. You’ll definitely want to take some time for yourself to unwind and mentally decompress. 24/7 cramming never usually turns out well. So, if snow sports is your jam, go for it.

MIA sims are usually offered in limited numbers and bid for when you bid your sim schedule. The most senior to bid it will get it. It’s just me, but be mindful of where others in you class live. I had a junior person in my class who lived in MIA with a newborn at home. Despite making it known to people that he really wanted MIA due to his situation, he was outbid by a couple of senior people who wanted “a vacation and per diem”. I always though that was a pretty crummy and selfish move, but I guess seniority is seniority.

I don't want to make any promises because there are lots of variables that would have to work out, but PM me if you wind up in town with a few days off mid-week. I'll give you a ride to the slopes. I'm junior and on reserve in Denver so I usually work weekends and have 2-3 days off mid-week. I try to ski at least a day or two each week. Ikon pass destinations preferred.

Default Interview Prep

Hi all, I've got an interview coming up and have some questions about some of the paperwork.

The email I got outlines everything to bring really nicely except when it comes to the logbook part. I rebuilt my stolen logbook with all of my ratings/signoffs from past 8710's. I have my entire official airman file from the FAA up to but not including my ATP that I completed with the regional I am at now. I could ask for another one but with the snail mail process I'm 99.9% certain it won't be here in time. I guess the question I have is will the airman file I have coupled with the ATP 8710 copy printed from the IACRA site suffice on interview day or will they need something more?

I would call directly but cannot find an HR number on the site (they don't want unsolicited phone calls) and they did not provide an email address in the email they sent requesting the documents. I replied to the email they sent that from just in case it does reach them but it was an airlineapps.com.

Thank you all in advance.
