Classes are the roughly the 1st Monday of the month. The next one is 3/30. I’d plan for 5/2, I doubt it’s full.

[QUOTE=Excargodog;3393885]Or you can simply agree to a LOA to take NOW what is being offered for NOTHING and reset the baseline. A JCBA will STILL be required and you can then make more progress from the higher baseline.

Unless the INTENT is to screw over the new hires by holding them hostage.

I see you are getting bashed a little for that comment. I'm certain there is no intent to screw over new hires. I don't think your idea is bad on the surface. I'll guess that the union wants something for this now in addition to the new hire accommodation is why it's not a good idea just to accept this freebie. Then you would have the freebie plus whatever and an even better "baseline". Anytime the company wants something you have a bargaining chip and it's the unions job to capitalize while the balance of power has a shift. One of the reasons we pay dues.

YOU are the one who doesn’t understand. I very much DO understand, and very much disagree. This is no different than holding innocents hostage. Might it work for your purposes? Perhaps sometimes. Does that make it right? No.

The pilots have more leverage than they have had in recent history. They don’t need to eat their young. In F9s defense - it’s a better deal for newbies than NK.

It’s unlikely the company even met with the union to memorialize hotels for new hires. So there’s not really even a freebie at this point.

I’m sure that’s not the opinion of those getting their hotels paid for.

Right and we would like to keep that going forward. Right now there’s nothing to prevent them from taking it away whenever they feel like it.

You are being more short-sighted than Mr Magoo. Would you rather have hotels provided for a few new hire classes or get hotel language added to the contract that permanently requires hotels for initial, upgrade, and RGS training? We pay the union a lot of money and they generally do a pretty darn good job of negotiating on our behalf especially when you consider who they are dealing with on the other side of the table. Why don’t we let the adults in the room handle this.

I’m sure it’s a somewhat open ended question but does anyone know how long on average it takes for the background/pria stuff to clear? I interviewed successfully on March 8th. Thanks.

About 8 days recently from a friend. But others are taking longer. There are factors which make it take longer.
