There are people that get calls without going to a MTC, but I can’t think of a reasonable explanation of why someone would opt out of the opportunity. It’s a half day event that all but guarantees you advance to the next step of the hiring process at a major airline.

Never attended a MTC but did have a prior coworker who is an FO put a silver bullet or golden eagle recommendation into her CP. Next day got an invite for the assessment.
