MTC
I have a MTC in my state next month and I wanted to know what happens there, do I talk a recruiter or the chiefs?
I’m planning on buying a suit and a few copies of my resume and cover letter saying that I’m in interested in the cadet program(it just closed couple days ago so that’s not happening) and just introduce myself to the pilots there. I never been to one before and have now clue what they do or talk about there any advice would be appreciated!

Technically if you are in the Cadet Program coming from a part 61 background (and possible others?) you also are sent to ATP Jets In Dallas for 3 weeks before even seeing the Rocky Mountains.
Week 1: ATPCTP
Week 2: Airbus A320 Type Rating (This is where you will take your ATP Oral, Practical, and Type Rating all in one)
Week 3: Frontier Direct (This is where you learn some of the Company Flows and familiarization. These flows will be sharped and honed once you get to Denver after that)

Thank you for the detailed response. Sorry I did not see it earlier (forum acts weird on mobile)

Based on one of your previous posts, you were recently not accepted into the cadet program. Also, as you mentioned the Cadet program is not accepting new applicants either. Taking both of these things into account, showing up to a MTC may not be in your best interests. If I were you, wait 6 months since you last applied to the cadet program, work on at least finishing your PPL, address whatever reason you weren't accepted the first time, and then go to a MTC and reapply. Going to a MTC shortly after getting turned down is usually not a good look.

Without a doubt. They were inundated with applications and that’s why they closed it off for awhile to catch up but it’s showing that it is working because they are keeping classes full 50-60 every month. Now quantity doesn’t equal quality, but that’s for the training department to deal with. From a personnel standpoint it helps offset any FOs that are leaving a bit. Many cadets who got in are skipping the regional level entirely and this is their first type rating as well so that will be a rude awakening too if they are not good at self study. Only time will tell how the cadet program pans out for quality of pilots that were brought through that program.

Then why even send Cadets to ATP Jets at all for a Type Rating? Honest question not being sassy. If you are taught in Denver how to fly the plane then what is the Type Rating and ATP certificate worth training wise? Why not just after ATPCTP send everyone to Denver for Type Rating and their ATP Certificate? This is a legit question I’ve been curious the mentality of the training flow.

Is this 9 day airbus type rating just an enhanced "Jet Transition Course" combined with the ATP CTP requirements? You need a number of hours in a Level D full motion simulator for your ATP anyways. Maybe it was just some packaged deal F9 got with ATP for their flow through students.

ATP used to have a "Jet Transition Course" or an "RJ course" if I remember correctly. It was free if you flight instructed for like 1000 hrs for them (or something like that). It was supposed to help you transition from flying GA to RJs. This was back quite a number of years ago now.

I don’t believe so because Cadets who graduated from Riddle (as an example) do not have to do the Jet Transition and type at ATPJETS. They just do ATPCTP Then They do the type at Frontier in Denver. My guess….The type at ATPJETS is to weed out the weak who can’t handle it coming from Part 61 background. Purely a guess though.
