I thought about this for a while and I'm not so sure...

Yes, of course, EVERY business wants to make money. But most businesses realize that they must put forth effort to do so. Effort in getting the most out of their employees. Effort in being as efficient as possible. Effort in making the best business decisions based on credible forecasting.

I don't think F9 is that anymore (if they ever were). As many have pointed out, BB just isn't that kind of CEO. The most profitable airline by percentage for 2025 is Sun Country. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to run a small airline, realize the obvious flaws in the product and work towards a fix.

I don't think Indigo is at all concerned about making THE MOST money they can - just making some seems good enough. Now that we haven't been doing that in a while, I wonder what they'll do.

i dont think you should be comparing us to an airline that has 47 planes, 462 pilots, one base, charter heavy (compared to us anyway), and does cargo operations with Amazon.

“profitable by %” is a convenient way to not put in any thought process.

Oh just be like sun country. Okay no problem. Starting tomorrow we will be more like SY. But, why not just be more like Delta?

Dempsey from Ryan Air, Ryan Air basically pays their pilots the same as actual bus drivers. Franke's dream is to make that model work here..

But that's my point.

Just every other passenger airline also does cargo. F9 could if it wanted to as well as more charter. It won't be tomorrow but it DOES need to happen (or at least something). Right now we're locked into the definition of insanity.

Tough to picture us doing any high end charter.

you need some dedicated planes that aren’t barfed in. Plus staff that has the vip customer service touch. And someone besides a single dispatcher working 30 other flights to set up the actual fbo details.

What's going on with our future charter flights??

Didn't one company communication suggest charter could be up to 10% of our block hours? And then we haven't heard or seen a thing about it again?

We're they supposed to be ICE deportation flights? College sports charters? Apple Vacation?

What happened? And what does a new CEO man for them? Only time will tell i suppose.

Charters have been worked into the schedules as much as they can, especially now since its holidays, most are slowing due to colleges being out, etc.

I did one of the first charters we had and they baked it into a flight schedule to not have completely empty planes on the repo flights, we actually ended up having like 15 going down and 2 completely full 321's for the charter, then the leg back to base was like 130 pax on what normally would have been an empty leg.

They want to mainly cater towards high volume charters or college teams, which is possible. In the end, the charter could be more, it just depends on what they want to do. They have no intention of doing deportation flights. That is Avelo's job.
