I did not get the nod from Frontier. It was an ok experience but here is my problem. The interviewers said right off the bat I wish we could hire you all. Basically they are going to cut a certain amount even if everyone is good. This left a bad taste in my mouth. They are being a little too picky. Also the way they call your name out in front of everyone and say you did not get the job was embarrassing. The chief pilot was cold, numb, and about as boring as it gets. The 7 minute scenario was a communication exercise I get that, but the scenario was not realistic with tornadoes, bad weather everywhere, problems in the back.
The others that did not get the job all left angry. I left in disbelief. I thought the interview went well. Maybe they thought I would leave because I didn't have my heart in it. I just wanted out of the regional hell. So so so glad I didn't get the job because NK called me right after. The interview experience was much better. I'm really happy at NK and it is where I really want to be anyways. If you get an interview at NK they say we will hire you all, it is your job to lose. Doesn't that seem like a company who knows how to put you in a good mood for the start of an interview?

I think they can afford to be picky right now, the new planes won't come until next year. I'm not sure what they're looking for, I've seen ones get hired that didn't have much experience and a record.

You make numerous points throughout your post that prove the interview process worked exactly as it's designed. Glad you landed where you REALLY wanted to be...and good luck.

Sounds to me like they made the right call. They want people that want to be here. You can't say they are being to picky, they want a curtain type and there is nothing wrong with that. They can afford to be picky and that may change but for now that's the way it is. You obviously didn't want to be here. Enjoy Spirit and congrats.

I have heard some say that if any LCC's merge in the future, Frontier and Spirit would be very likely candidates (pure speculation); you may end up there after all....

Congratulations on getting hired at Spirit.

Your screen name is quite revealing - the process works.

Congratulations on your job.

I was wondering the same thing. Other than the offer and another manager asking for work history, I have not gotten any further information other than be there at 0830 on the 5th. I noticed on here they were still putting people in the August class, so I assume they might still be hammering out the details now that the class is full. Anyone else have info?
