Seriously? That can't be accurate. Doesn't make sense. The neo program has been in the works for years, right? How could have we NOT been ready for the delivery?? Is the POI being a PIA?

The mechanics and the company have been in contract negotiations for years and the mechanics are getting fed up and leaving. They have had a bunch of good guys leave in the last year, and they are short handed. They simply didn't have the time or spend the time to get what they called the 'cards' ready. The 'cards' are basically checklists of what routine inspections are required for the aircraft, and obviously they have to be approved. From what I was told, they haven't even gotten them put together yet, let alone get them approved.
We should still be the launch customer for the 319 NEO and the North American CFM powered NEO, but they aren't coming yet!

You may get some different opinion as to what is the best part of bidding hardlines, but I would have to say it's vacation drop. In a nutshell, if you can bid a line that has a four day trip come in on the first day of your vacation, and then that line also has a four day trip that starts on the end of your vacation, you'll have both trips dropped (and pay protected) and extend your vacation by that much time. Also, any trips that operate during your vacation period are dropped and pay protected as well. There are some other nuances, and caveats, to this system, but that's the general gist of it.
How many legs/day is typical? 1-3 or more? Just trying to get a feel for the schedule. I'm also curious (except for the pay) how the schedule and benefits compare to othe majors including the legacies??

Yes 1-3 legs usually. Less often 4. I think I've done 5 maybe once. Schedules compared to Legacies: Might be similar except we fly a lot of redeyes. Our trips aren't usually too efficient. I suppose 10 hour 2 days, 15 hour 3 days, or 20 hour 4 days are considered pretty good around here these days, and they get a lot uglier than that. Course we got a TAFB / 3.75 rig if that floats ur boat. The pre ULCC Frontier had way better efficiency. I've heard lots of guys say they flew 3 on 4 off for years, now they fly 4 on 3 off. Benefits compared to legacies??? BWAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
This thread was started right as the rumors of Indigo purchasing Frontier began.
If you scan/browse/read it, or at least go back a year and a half or so and start there, you will learn everything you want to know about Frontier. I only tell you this because you seem truly interested in knowing details.
I know it's a lot to go through, but in my opinion it will give you a dang comprehensive understanding of this place, and what to expect, as well as the challenges we now face.
Or Bolo can just spoon feed it to you ...Kidding Bolo!

Na, Spirit was supposed to be the North American launch customer all along. This first NEO is a full year behind schedule for us. I'll find some documentation for you.

Seriously. It was told to me directly by 2 mechanics.

Here's an article I found online. Looks like it confirms that we will hire 300 pilots and 800 FA's in 2017. 72 Airframes by end of 17.
