I think that's debatable. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I don't think it's cut and dry. I think if your goal is to get on at the big 3, it might be beneficial to the resume to show you got hired by another airline and got another type rating.

And for the record, Frontier is better than a regional. The day we have a new contract, no one would ever make that argument again. The regional airline business is dying, Frontier is growing. Think beyond our current contract, we won't have it forever

was legitimate question its just that if the current contract is of course not ideal then im asking why did a bunch of people move over and are now leaving? if it was just for the type and jump ok i can get understand that no problem.. also when is the new contract coming? i mean in all logic with all new airframes coming etc the management cant possibly think that they are not going to have to make amends with a decent contract.

I don't think there has been all that much attrition, really. Maybe a slow, but steady trickle leaving for the big 3.

Our new contract should be signed in 2017, according to my new lanyard.

And yes, I believe we will need a new contract to fuel the growth they have planned. Double the fleet in 5 years will require a lot of hiring. They just won't give up a new contract until they must

Many left regionals that were shrinking or had unsure futures, I was one of them. I had no chance of upgrading at my previous regional in less than 8-10 years. I'll most likely upgrade at F9 before I would've at my regional. It was a no brainer for me. Working here is a lot better than my regional in most ways. It's not a question of when we'll get a contract, it's when. If one of the legacies calls in the meantime, I'm out of here-a sentiment shared by most FOs at F9 that have less than 3-5 years of seniority

We will have a contract very shortly after the NMB releases us to self help. The contact we are asking for seems very close to the current United contract.

I'm guessing we get it about 1 year from now. It just depends on how the NMB deals with our management

Wow where did you get this info? The United contract would bankrupt F9. Not to mention your current contract is no where close to United's. How do you plan on getting that much out of the company on your first ALPA contract?

Now if I miss understood you and you meant UA airbus pay, then I can buy that.

Yes, I meant United Airbus rates. The proposal that the union gave the company was very close to the United Airbus rates at the time. I believe that United has a 'me too' clause that will have them catch up to the new Delta rates. Assuming Delta votes yes on their new TA, we will already be behind.

Your timeline is very optimistic. I'm guessing you've never dealt with Bill Frankie and the NMB before?

It's Franke. And yeah, I am optimistic. I wouldn't be even a little surprised if they are able to drag this out longer. However, we do have a lot of things working in our favor.

The economy, the profitability of the company, our extremely lucky Mediator and the fact that the NMB knows Franke now. We are in a stronger position than Spirit was when they struck. We are the kind of airline (small and unable to hurt the economy) that they will release to strike. Hawaiian on the other hand, is much more unlikely to be released.

I'm optimistic, yeah. But we've got some things working in our favor too
