I wonder if they'll have enough parking for us lowlifes when we attend recurrent ground school or if they'll expect us to continue parking in a mud parking lot or along City streets.
With Skywest moving out of SSS, they'll be plenty of classroom space there. I don't think line pilots will ever see the inside of the new building, but honestly who cares? I'm happy to see the purchase of a new headquarters building; to me that indicates that there isn't a sell-off of the company planned within the next couple years. I'm not one of the pilots giddy about being bought up by a legacy (or JetBlue). We're well into mediated negotiations for a new CBA, and I would like to see that process remain uninterrupted.

Yes.

You need to meet them at a career fair, sun n fun, etc... if you want a call. Just submitting your app won't do it.

I've heard there have been a growing number of people getting calls from the online app without going to a job fair.

The seniority you lose while waiting for a new contract will be worse than the current pay cut. Our pay flat-out stinks, but a new contract is coming. When? Your guess is as good as mine.

I flew with and Interviewer not long ago and he said they are cold calling off resumes and apps for interviews. Most of the guys are FO's from regionals . Says about 1/2 the people show up for interview- i.e. 20 invited to interview and 10-12 show up that day. I know when Allegiant got their new contract that helped their pool of applicants . There's no doubt a new contract would help with recruiting and retention.

Damn. Half show up and half of them get hired. So that's 25% of the apps submitted. Considering first year pay is such a huge deterrent to current regional captains, it's gotta be tough for the hiring guys to pick out guys they think would make good A320 captains in a couple of years! Hopefully the new contract gets passed soon so more guys want to go to F9.
