If I am lucky enough to get a job offer, and accept, will I be looked at as a guy that didn’t help the cause or will I be welcomed with open arms? It is not my desire to start out on the wrong foot. Overall, the guys here understand that people have their personal reasons for coming here. You'll be welcomed. Maybe an odd ball or two won't be happy, but they'll forget about it after we get the next contract.

If it comes down to the NMB not agreeing that we are at an impasse. At that point, it becomes more critical for new hires to help the group and wait a little longer.

Thanks for the info. If a strike happens and a new hire is on probation are they fired? Quitting a job to get fired doesn’t seem like a good move.

Historically, yes, newhires will be fired and rehired when/if a TA is signed.

That is absolutely not true! Everybody is welcomed as long as you are humble and not arrogant! When I hear "this is not my first rodeo," then that is when I lift an eyebrow and say we have an individual here that is trying to prove something. Overall you will find that this is an extraordinary pilot group that are very welcoming and friendly.

I would never disparage someone new for taking a job here. That would be pretty messed up, and it could be damaging long-term.

Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t try to educate them before they committed, in order that they could make an informed decision, but if they decided to come, I would never hold it against them.

I imagine in the case of a strike, new hires in training would be expected to leave training? And new hires with class dates would not show up to class on the first day? Or would they do day one of indoc so that they are officially employees and then join the picket line, getting fired and then rehired?

I've recently interviewed and am waiting for a class date. My experience has been nothing but positive. It's obviously important to make as educated a decision as you can, and people in this forum who are willing to share an unbiased opinion are greatly appreciated.

I think it's important for all new hires to just be cognizant of the frustration this pilot group has been through. And hopefully anyone with a "not my first rodeo", cocky attitude didn't make it through the interview.

Just my two cents. Looking forward to joining this group, and in the meantime, good luck in the coming weeks.

I’ve never heard of anyone giving someone crap for coming here... theyll probably ask why but it’ll be dropped after that... like someone said previously, everyone has their reasons for coming here... the pilots are ****ed at the company and the NMB, not each other... you’ll just notice frustration because this could be one of the best places to work, but the company kills that at every turn... I’d say 99% of the time, the crews treat each other really well
