A 10 year CPA just means GJT has an agreement on how much they will get paid to fly the 550’s. That doesn’t mean their flying is guaranteed. No airline has that. United can pull the 550’s at any time. Just ask XJT who lost the 175’s one year into that CPA.

Ask any XJT pilot how their Delta agreement was cancelled years before it expired.

Thats not exactly how that happened at XJT. XJT still had a year or so on the contract and contacted Delta about renewing it. Delta told them they wouldn’t be renewing the contract. XJT management was also trying to get an new CPA with UAL but UAL wasn’t sure the XJT could staff the flying. XJT/SkyWest management negotiated winding down the Delta flying early so they could staff the UAL opportunity. Delta didn’t pull it early, XJT negotiated the wind down early so they could sign other opportunities.

With the temporary abundance of regional pilots they figured it was a good time to make the restructure.

Force majeure can nullify any contracts that were signed previously. Perfect example is CPZ

I highly doubt that, even if a recruiter tells you that, it does not mean is going to happen, keep in mind that they were planning on senior pilots leaving, that is no longer happening, since all hiring at the majors has stopped. Also the company is asking for pay cuts and possible furloughs (the Covid bill might change that, but we do not know yet). Pilots on leave would have to return before new classes are started, currently leaves are being offered until June, so new hire classes maybe in August, if everything recovers well, nobody knows how long is going to take.
