Always double strapping it. I forgot to mention he's always looking at his iPhone with earbuds in. I can't wait to fly with him. Then I'll be known as that tool CA who made me get a different bag.

I used to fly with a guy who carried and old school leather brief case. The kind you carry like 10s of thousands of dollars in.

He carried a change of boxers. A white shirt. A pair of running shoes.

For 8 days.

Just about as bad as the pilot I saw in IAD strolling into the airport wearing GRAY sneakers. Oh, and he had a gray backpack to match.

Maybe, just maybe he has foot problems BUT for Christ's sake, wear black sneakers so at least you don't stick out like a sore thumb.

 

Please tell me this is TH...if so, then yes...def TOTD material.

I used to give him the "Next Leg Undefined Checklist" when a 'No Link' was NXT in the box (it pops up as a message, I'm sure you know). It's in the redbook...and if we're going to be exactly standard, well, then he was going to read every checklist I could call for.

 

I pack pretty light, but that's gross.

I had no idea there was a "next leg undefined" checklist, but I gave serious consideration to calling "master caution, parking brake" every time he set the brakes, or "master caution, tank fuel low" during startup.

 

I believe it's in Chapter 4...somewhere around page 64... (there's a nice list of FMS Message checklist in that area, that can be fun to call at random). Also, did he do fuel tracking for all flights over 1hr?

 

You are correct and the same in my experience in aviation and professional fields.

Also my experience is that the worst fellow pilots I've come across are the ones that assume all other pilots (or anybody else) are terrible at flying. It is because they found it extremely difficult themselves, and possibly were not exposed to, or able to perform, other complex things in life (mastering a musical instrument, learning a foreign language, etc.) Unfortunately there are similar characters in my field too - the guy that always tries to recite useless irrelevant facts but is terrible with a scalpel.

 

I feel like this is starting to become a regular trend for me but crew members that throw little kid tantrums when the hotel van isn't immediately outside when we walk out.

It's really embarrassing to be standing outside with a crew member throwing a fit becuase we have been out there all of 2 minutes and you've decided to call the hotel twice and cuss out the poor desk clerk about the whereabouts of his van and call him a liar saying he would be there. And then continue to Vent and steam in front of passengers also at the curb. It reflects poorly on us.

I get it when it's a stand up or a 10-12 hour overnight but when we have 18+ hours at the XYZ airport north/south/east/west hotel, just chill out a minute. And don't make me call the hotel either. I'm not the one who lost my temper. Enjoy the nice day out and have a little patience.
