Horizon pilots will give in and get their jets. Don't worry. Nothing against you Snacky, you seem to be a straight shooter. But....a lot of pilots want shiny new jets and will sell their soul to do it. The company won't just give them away, it puts them in a corner with SkyWest being in the drivers seat. Or they would have just handed them to SkyWest in the first place.

That's funny. I think that what you meant to say was "Horizon pilots will re-give in to re-get their jets."

If this is accurate, what the problem is is that management will effectively break the union, by being able to compensate individual groups of pilots at whatever level they choose.

Bob showed up last year, they pay him $32-.
Things get tight, they hire Jim for $50-.
The union wants everyone treated equally, the company says bug off, this is what we decided we need now.
Do you want to work for arbitrarily set compensation?

The problem is that our compensation is specifically defined by our CBA, so management wants the ability to simply ignore portions of the CBA when and where it's convenient for them.

Horizon management already operates on a "fly it now, grieve it later" basis for a lot of things, so it would be a terrible idea for them to get the ability to unilaterally change compensation whenever they felt like it.

This sounds like what AA did to Eagle all over again!

It is utterly ridiculous that they would expect such laughable terms at the heels of the some of the most momentous movement in pilot hiring. I hope that you all tell them to go and shove it.

Any news? Because SkyWest just got a memo saying they will be flying AS 175s from Dallas to PDX, SEA, SJC and SAN.

Keep in mind that about 75% of the pilots on our current seniority list will never fly the jet. I'd like to urge my fellow Horizon pilots to ignore management's threats and continue to support our pilot group and our union leadership.
