What's happening at Horizon and Jets?

Right after the concessionary contract was signed to keep more 175s from going away, Alaska decided to give SkyWest another 5. Those routes are probably for those.

Hot off the press:
"Today the EXCO and the company reached a tentative agreement regarding new hire bonuses, First Officer pay scales, a hard daily rig, and other CBA improvements as well as a signing bonus. The tentative agreement now goes to Local 1224 Executive Board and the Airline Division for approval before the ratification process begins. We anticipate voting will begin within two weeks. Shortly, we will publish and outline of the changes and improvements included in the tentative agreement.
It has been a long haul since August when the last TA failed ratification. Thank you for the continued support.
Fraternally,
Horizon EXCO"

Details of the TA have not yet been released, and it has to be voted on anyway. The company DID release some details of their most recent offer to the union:
(1) First Officer pay scale would be increased to $40/hour for Year 1, $46/hour for Year 2, and up to $52/hour for Year 8 and higher.
(2) One-time ratification bonus of $15,000 ($10,000 initially, plus $5,000 in one year).
(3) Minimum trip rig of 4.5 credit hours per day for the Q400. Note that this is a trip rig and not the minimum per day. For example, a 2-day trip would be worth a minimum of 9 credit hours.
As noted in a previous post, the company wanted to be able to work outside of our current contract with respect to new-hire bonuses and tuition reimbursement programs. Our union leadership decided that this was unacceptable. This was the cause of the most recent stalemate in negotiations.
