MCO A320 CA could, in theory, go to a new hire if nobody bids it
Will we have displacements in future?

The company can't currently displace.

Once they can it's a bit of a mess, since a pilot who is displaced can take any position their seniority can hold. That can produce A LOT of training events, and thus a lot of cost.

So it never behooves the company to displace if they can get crews to move voluntarily.

Like I said in a previous post, if this LR sub-base of 6 aircraft per base only goes back and forth to London and stays at an airport highway motel 6, you might be surprised how junior it goes in both seats.

But yes, hiring is good.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

Only SQ qualified pilots can do SQ pairings.....except SQ reserve pilots can do other flying since after there down to 3 days there will be nothing really left overseas... With this is mind they will need to overstaff for these stipulations. Since they can't run hot and put out a bunch of VDA's, RSA's to NON- SQ pilots.....

Interesting?!.....to say the least.

Good point. They are going to have to artificially raise the 5-3 day reserve sets to cover those pairings. They can’t exactly be broken up.

Maybe Europe will go super junior then. If it’s going to be just back and forth to London on a 15 hour/3 day, and you cannot VDA on your days off because you’re relegated to just SQ trips. Especially if you live in base...want day trips and premium flying opportunities.

I'm not sure why so many people keep talking about VDAs once the entire CBA is active. VDAs will become a thing of the past, except for the most severe IROPs. (I know--insert JB SOP=IROPs). But once global open time and premium open time are online, VDAs will become generally extinct.
