From what I can tell there is an exemption to the rule if background checks are required by federal state or local laws, which I’m guessing pilots fall under that in some way.

Applied when the hiring window opened at the start of August. Got the virtual phone screen email a little over 4 weeks later. Completed the virtual phone screen and a week later invited for the face to face. Phase 2 email less than 24 hours after the face to face. Phase 2 completion email and enter the pool 2 weeks after the face to face.

You’ll have the opportunity to speak to a recruiter (either HR type or pilot). If the impression is good and you’re qualified based on what they’re looking for presently, it will likely result in a F2F. I was on the low side of qualified when I attended and received the F2F invite during the application window following the event. Treat it like an interview. Be prepared to look the part and have an answer for why you want to be at JetBlue. It’s a great experience and will only help you if you present yourself accordingly. Best of luck.

It has not typically been that way in the past, although I have some recent anecdotal experience to the contrary. A friend applied and completed the video interview but had not received a F2F invite or TBNT. He attended the RTAG conference, spoke to a recruiter who looked up his info, and was told to expect an email with an interview invite shortly. I think the same may be true for VIB.

I've been watching this forum for a while and thought I'd share my timeline so far. Seems mine is slower than most, video interview invite first week of September, submitted just a few days later on the 10th, didn't hear anything until I received the flight addendum just last Monday 18th, returned it several hours later, haven't heard anything since. Hopefully hear something back about a F2F very soon, fingers crossed. Going on 7 weeks since the video invite
