Just so you guys can keep up.

Adding 15 seats to all 320's in 2016

Deferring 15 320 deliveries between 2016-2018 because of the ASM growth from the interior "refresh"

New delivery schedule is
2015- 12
2016 - 10
2017 - 10
2018 - 6

Charging for bags via "fare families"

No other major bombs today, but this will slow growth plans a bit for a few years.

Just to add to that I believe it was 18 A320s pushed out to 2022-2023 and also another upgrade of 8 A320 orders to A321s. With the reported expected revenue bump of 400+ million, I'd say given the current climate and the way they're going about it, looks to be a sound plan. All in all even with the addition of 15 seats and the reduction from 34.7" to 33.1", that still ends up being "the most legroom in coach". Just my two cents.

Yep your right. 18 deferrals. I still thinking 15 from the seats.

I think the plan is solid although moving 18 planes worth of hiring down the road sucks for the pilots.

For those of us waiting in Phase 2, this news of aircraft deferments is a bit nerve wrecking. Do you think the decision will effect the current proposed hiring numbers for 2014/15 or slow them down the road?

I don't think it will change anything for the rest of this year or next because we didn't defer anything until 2016 but I'm probably wrong. Idk

Hiring for 2015 won't change so none of you in Phase 2 have anything to worry about......the plan is still to hire around 400 new pilots next year...the same amount as this year.....

My guess is that the slowdown will occur for 2016-2018......and based on the deferrals, I think you're looking at about 300 per year for those years, then ramped back up for 2019 and beyond since the 320/321 accruals increase back to around 15 per year again....

If I had to bet right now, JB will have 4000 pilots on property by the end of 2018.......

Not to mention attrition and a few retirements. I would say they're not gonna change the hiring numbers, maybe even add some. Upgrade time may be the dark horse.

I don't think attrition will make a huge difference....they forecasted 200 leaving this year and I think only +-90 have actually left. Maybe it will increase. But with slowing growth for a couple years I definitely don't think they will be increasing hiring unless attrition really increased.

Just my .02

E-mail sent out today for all the Ph2 folks states that the Fall interview group (believe around 270 made it to Ph2) should expect class dates between Jan and May if they don't already have one. Next app window planned for the Spring 15. This supports the idea that yesterday's news won't really impact the current Ph2 pool. Hope it plays out that way.
