I know we're not on opposite sides. There is no way that B6 believes it will have to come close to the big 3 (or 4 if you include LUV). They will be very interested in the outcome of this vote and if it passes in the 90s, it will indicate our weakness and delay what may have been a decent TA until 2019-A goal that is widely known to exist. Do you realize the hundreds of millions they save by staving off a new contract for just 1 year? Now triple those profits if TA is delayed a few years- profits, we now share to a lesser degree btw. Eye on the prize-no mitigation is my stance. Good luck to us all

So we lose the profit sharing regardless if we vote yes or no, yet people want to vote down an increase in our base pay? what do we as a pilot group gain for voting it down? Seriously, would love to understand what some are thinking...

If we vote yes we get an increase in our base pay of 8% and doesn't change our negotiations for our first contract... would someone rather have 8% more pay as we continue to fight for our first contract, or would you be happy making what we are now as we still continue to fight for our first contract...
Our PS is being cut regardless...

That attitude is why we are lagging. The same attitude that leads to concessions. Hold off on this so called raise and send a message to the company. Thats where the real payoff could be- they will only offer decent pay when they know we're on to their BS.

The MEC believes there is no logical reason not to accept the improvements which have been made available to our work group pursuant to the LOA.
Yes vote here

So this company can just take away pay and benefits whenever it pleases? Remind me why the hell people aren't jumping ship left and right?

So what message does it send by voting no? We won't get retro pay in our first contract, so again what purpose or message are we sending by rejecting this increase in pay? I guess if the the negotiations take 2 plus years you will be happy that you sent that message and lost out on 8% on your paychecks for say 2 plus years.... oh and the company just saved 8% and STILL takes the money from PS... yup sends a strong message... SMH...

I am not against the MEC! I wear my lanyard and support our union, but that doesn't mean I always agree with everything!

I am not telling anyone how to vote and if the MEC thinks its ok to vote yes, then ok. All I said was that we need to stop saying this is a raise! It's not! They are cutting profit sharing and they will keep taking away more and more and changing policies. See the check in policy, changes to limo and deadhead times, now screwing with our retirement, etc. This is only the beginning....

This is ALL conjecture Rabbit- Who knows how long it will take to get a TA with the status quo vs. this 8% raise with a 33% cut in profit sharing. I just think the company will use our submission to extend negotiations. Do you think that view has any merit? Has the company proved itself to be an honest entity? Of course 8% is a little more money, but if it allows the company to drag its feet, its a long term pay cut. Can you see that?
There are no guarantees except that B6's goal is to get as much from the pilot group while paying as little as possible. Im not sure you'll be familiar with the expression but jetblue is simply "cooling out their mark"- its a con game. Enjoy your 8%- itll be the last "raise" we get for 3 years.
