Regardless of what some of the nay Sayers want you to believe, I think our pilot group is strong. We had the largest yes vote in ALPA history and engagement numbers are very high. All the data pints to fact that our group is not willing to settle for sub par. There are outliers in both groups of juicers and ALPA alike, but the vast majority fall to the grey middle of sanity.
When we get out TA it will speak volumes one way or another.
Fly safe, fly SOP.

I'd like to hear from some that wasn't excited to a part of JetBlue when they got the "your hired" call. Maybe it's because I'm looking at 10 plus years ahead and a lot of the nay sayers are looking at today. Yes things can change and go down hill too, but we aren't the only company that gets effected when $h!t hits the fan. LCC's are the way of the future and are going to continue to crush it in the industry. But wait, show me the money, always greener on the other side. Livin' the dream... work, work, work.
Let's stay strong and get the kick a$$ contract we deserve and make this the place we expected it to be when we got hired.

I'm happy here for the most part (or to apathetic to leave). I'm in a wait and see mode with the new contract, which with any luck, we will see in 2017. All I have to say, is we need SWA/AA/UA/DL numbers or I'm out. I like it here, but I don't like it here enough to make 30% less plus below par retirement and health benefits once we get our new contract.

Now, we need to be compensated appropriately. Cumbya can continue and it should. But, cumbya will be attached to proper compensation. This is where it gets murky. I believe that management has taken this pilot groups cumbya for granted. They also believe (maybe know) that as a whole (Union) we are weak. They will squeeze us for more cumbya and below industry average compensation. I want to believe the NC is ready for this, but by confidence is low.

Be careful. If you leave I wish you well, but you'll be starting over again. We all know this. It sucks. It makes no sense. But everyday you wait it's another # down the legacy list you slip. A 5% furlough at Delta, AA or UAL (that's never happened before) is a LARGE # of pilots. That's what scares me. I'm staying at jblue. Because I hope and believe we will succeed.

For example, in 2017 AA retires 462 pilots, 357 this year, and 561 in 2018 as well. Many of the other legacy carriers have similar number. These carriers could just not hire and that would be a substantial decrease in head count. Anything can happen obviously but the industry hasn't seen retirement numbers like this in a long time.
