Is it that hard to just say the truth.

Instead of lying and saying we get 3% or 8% ( whatever you mood is) just say we get 13% from the company contributed to our 401K if we put in 5%. In addition to that we got 16% PS check. However, we should get 15-16 percent retirement with no match required, and still get a 16% profit sharing Check. But I guess telling lies is better. Either some people like to make stuff up or really are that stupid.
And all of that is at the company's discretion. They can change it tomorrow as demonstrated by our profit sharing change. I hope you enjoy your profit sharing check this year because it won't be as large next year.

We have a 3% company defined contribution. Compared to 16% at United. The 5% that's deposited from the profit sharing cliff is never guaranteed.

Everything regardless of where you are can change tomorrow. Ask guys that use to have pensions. The fact is you guys are straight up lying about what we get. The company contributes 13% to our retirement not 3. So if we get offered a guarantee of 12% you going to be happy because its more than 3? I agree things need to ge better and we are in negotiations. Since a couple other carriers finished up a few months ago you guys act like we have been 40% behind for years, which we are not even 40% behind now. You lie on public boards about what we make and what we get. I get it your on a campaign to get people to not apply here, but just be honest and let educated people make their own decision. They don't make up this much on bluepilots. This site has become worse. Self loathing liars.

Nope, still wrong. You should get 16% in your 401k plus *21%* profit sharing.

Remember they steal the first 5% of your profit sharing to fund that 13% 401k you are so proud of.

Try again bluejuicer.

Let's take a look at 12 year AB captain pay. United is 264 an hour plus 16 retirement and 11 profit sharing. JB is 219 an hour plus 13 retirement and 16 profit sharing.

264 * 1.27 = 335
219* 1.29 = 282

In order to get us the same compensation we need a 19% raise. So we are behind. Is it 40%? No. Not at united anyway.

Then how far are we behind hammer? Use the numbers and be precise. Ill even allow some name calling if that gives you comfort. Account for everything- retirement/healthcare etc.

I'm not sure if you are really this stupid, or have an agenda. Our profit sharing compared to United is a function of how much higher our profit margin is. We have a much higher profit margin than they do. A given years profit sharing percentage cannot and should not be used to compare total compensation. In fact, since our profit margin is so much higher, it is criminal that our hourly wage is soo much lower.

Furthermore, how does your overly-simplistic and inappropriate comparison account for our sub-standard work rules, vacation, sick bank, hotels, healthcare???

Please elaborate?

Please point out where I lied.

Let's use this comparison. I make $121/hour. A United Airbus FO at my longevity makes $157/hour. That's a 33% difference right there. Add the retirement difference of 3% (I'm using your numbers there not mine) and now I'm at 36%. Bring healthcare into the debate and I'm well over 40% difference. So again please point out my lies WhiteHammer.

Profit sharing should never be used in compensation comparisons as it's upon management to run a profitable company and we cannot rely on that to happen to be properly compensated.

Not to mention, you used the 2017 pay rate while using the 2016 profit sharing formula!!! Remember, they took away almost HALF of next year's profit sharing to fund the 2017 pay rate you just quoted!

Yet another epic failure on your part! LET THE GROWN UPS HANDLE THE MONEY PLEASE. You clearly don't know what the heck you are talking about!

It may have been mentioned here already but I think an important part of the retirement equation is that we only get the 5% match if we first put in 5%. So our take home is 5% lower in order to get the match, hence the definition of the word.

However, at the Big Three it looks like 16% is the number they put in and that is regardless of whether one puts in from their own pay or not. That's a big number.

This is wrong. JB is 202/hr with 16% PS. It's 218 with 10% PS. You're mixing apples and oranges. So 218* 1.23 = 268 So that's 25% behind. Let's take the year 1 or 2 guy who can't afford to put 5% into his 401K because he needs it to by Ramon noodles to feed his family. So that would be (using 12 year pay for similar comparisons) 218*1.18 = 257 which now makes it 30% behind.

And that doesn't take into consideration work rules, vaca/sick, HC, etc....

We're behind. By a LOT. And the gap is widening.
