“I just need 2 years to get back what those b@stards stole from me then I promise I’m gone! I can’t stand this place any longer!”
2-5 years later…
”Why would I retire, this is already a part time job…”
“I don’t technically turn 65 till Thursday and it’s only Tuesday so I booked a hotel just in case a day trip pops up. Also finished quarterly training on the layover so now they gotta pay me for that!”

Thats irrelevant. What’s relevant is the rule could very well change. If it does, oh well. Move on. Simple.
I was directly affected by age 65. You know what I did? I moved on. Whining and stomping your feet crying “no fair!!” gets you nowhere.

Same can be said for many boomer types I fly with. The self proclaimed "combat fighter pilot" who let me know exactly how his F16 was outfitted during Desert Storm 1 couldn't hand fly to save his life, couldn't get stable on an ILS, and insisted to fly raw data because "That's how real pilots fly" until I told him I couldn't babysit him anymore and he needed to use the FDs and/or autopilot before we both go violated.

"Dad" pushed everyone out of HIS way for his entire career. Now that it's his turn, and he has already benefited from pushing everyone else out of his way, he says it isn't fair...

It might and it might not. We are in the space now where it's possible to press others why it's better if it didn't change. Thats not whining.

I absolutely will never begrudge or judge someone who chooses to work until whatever age they may raise it to. Should we be looking at individual finances to decide who gets to stay and who has to retire.
As a Delta guy I’m sure you’ve read the side hustle thread on the Delta page. Some frequent posters there who probably could retire at any time. If they have enough to retire maybe we need to target them to make room for the younger guys.
