And so far nobody has been providing data. The ICAO timeline at best is 3-5 years.

QUICK UPDATE:

LEPF President Barry Kendrick is in DC now, on the Hill. He is continuing our work to get a Senate companion bill for Congressman Nehls’ legislation to raise the age.

We will not stop advocating for Congress to do the right thing and eliminate or raise the forced pilot retirement age!

Thank you for the continued support. More to follow.

Absolutely fair point. Without any black swans, I still believe the just post covid new-hires will have it better than ever, but they do/will happen. And if/when TSHTF they will be in a similar/worse situation my fellow geezers and I went through. Finishing training right now is not looking awesome.

I'd sure the legislators are fixated on age 67. In other news.

U.S. government will shut down after midnight as Congress fails to pass funding bills

There will be ZERO Republican sponsored bills in the Senate passed while Trump is in office unless they can get to 60 Republican Senators. Only specific bills like budget reconciliation bills that do not require debate in the Senate will pass because they only need 50 (51) votes. This is just a ruse to get them to keep donating money.

Maybe the next FAA bill (2028 I think) it could pass. Until then, good luck!

But that's the thing, there's no such thing as no black swans. Since the profession exists, every generation of pilots had endured them. Wars, recessions, mergers, bankruptcies, or just one bad new CEO making one bad decision/investment away from economic disaster. We got guys hired in the 80's/90's with good enough "timing" to avoid furloughs in the 2000's but they still lost pensions, took pay cuts, endured concessionary contracts, endured seniority stagnation and they're by your definition "lucky". I just don't think it's fair to assume anyone is going to have a great career until the day they punch out and hang their hat.

Cool. Now make hundreds, if not thousands of them operate over a dense city with all the diverse destinations that people will want to fly these things to, while deconflicted and generally not crashing into each other/buildings/terrain, oh yeah, and not decapitating anyone or amputating any limbs while they are operating near people. I’ll wait.

Now that’s funny.
