Yes, and maybe should start his own thread instead of trashing this one.

I don't know who restored her pay but if it was the company......well that's not good enough. This need to hurt Captain BM in the wallet. Then maybe next time he'll consider his actions a little more carefully.

Looks like from the MEC website/Safety page we now have a vacanacy. It appears the squeaky wheel does get the grease.

Didn't Lance fail a drug test earlier this year?

Did the Chief Pilot back him up and have her removed from the flight? If that's the case, he is the one who should have made sure she was pay protected. So, he has some blame in this as well.

As a captain, you should know that you can't force someone to change their appearance unless it covered in the FOM. Hopefully, the chief pilot pointed this out to him and the company will post a memo.

Two pretty interesting points brought up here...

1) is kudos to her for standing up for something, even when she was faced with negative repercussions for her actions... a.k.a having balls

2) perhaps winning a small battle isn't as important as winning the war, the whole point of those bracelets is to show management and other pilots how you feel about a certain issue. Obviously this captain knew what it was and what it stood for. She could have taken it off while on the flight deck and he would still know her standpoint on the issue.

in the end though it seemed her actions had some good.. it led to an official apology, no matter how weak, and I doubt anyone will get hassled for wearing the bracelets anymore

Just a wild guess on my part, but your right on that.

I think "his" commute (HNL-EWR) is going to start getting a bit tougher in the near future!!

Again...just a wild guess....Good job "Captain", you brought it on yourself!!

Fostering Unity of Pilots and Management.

Seems harmless to me.

Anyone know where to get the wristbands? I need one.
