Like I said, the F9 pilots are going to have a say in whether they want to work for SWA or RAH, and they'll know the terms of a SWA buyout before the deal is done. Let them choose what they want.

Good chance there'll be more offers for F9 before the 11th as well but don't fool yourself thinking this is up to the pilot groups. If management wants it, it's going to happen.

Let's hope so. This is too much drama for me.

Hopefully, this level of confusion doesn't accurately represent any pilot group.

I'm pretty sure that SWA will soon make an offer to the F9 pilots, and I think that the future course of SWA's bid will rest on whether or not the F9 guys want it. If they don't want it, I think that they will soon be Republic pilots. That is the choice that they're going to need to make. To the best of my knowledge, no SWA pilot has ever resigned for a job with Republic. Maybe Republic pilots will get an industry leading contract, I wish them nothing but luck.

The beginning of knowledge is the discovery of something we do not understand.

Save your " Pearls of Wisdom " for the F9 guys/gals that are hinging on that soon to be made " Offer from SWA ".

Make sure that offer Integrates, and Compensates, them properly--because when all is said and done--that is all that matters!

" To the best of my knowledge, no SWA pilot has ever resigned for a job with Republic. "

The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance -- it is the illusion of knowledge.

" Maybe Republic pilots will get an industry leading contract, I wish them nothing but luck. "

Republic Pilots Don't Need Luck, all knowing one--we will have your cash when you have to cough up the funds to Republic to successfully complete the bid process--about $ 300 Million Dollars approximately.

Remember, DIP Financing .

But, I will agree with you when you say that " It will rest on whether, or, not the F9 Group wants what's being offered on either side. "

I think that that will be an important decision for them--either way, I hope they will have the opportunity to continue their career--whatever choice they make.

Frontier is NOT ALPA. They have their own union.

I can certainly recognize rhetorical defeat, Lifer. I hope that your new contract is industry leading, and you retire a wealthy man at Republic.

Please understand that I have no problem with F9, or their employees. Whoever ends up buying F9 I hope they do take care of the workforce that has made F9 unique and in many ways successful airline.

That being said, I think all the people that are complaining about SWA bidding on F9 need to ask themselves a question:

If F9 was a viable company, why are they being bought in bankruptcy? Why didn't they emerge on there own?

Bottom line is that F9, as we all know it, is going away. No matter who buys the company, it is going to change.

As of tonight, there are only two companies that have expressed an interest in buying F9, SWA and RAH. What will either of them actually do with F9 if they come out the winner on the 11th? We don't know, but I would look at what has happened in the past as a good indication.

I would argue that the actions taken by RAH with Midwest are very telling and mean more than any rumor about them wanting to move into the "Mainline" world. RAH came to Midwest as a "White Knight" to help them out. But look at what they have done to Midwest since. Now they want to acquire F9 and want people to believe that they are the good guy and want the two companies to grow and expand. How many people from Midwest have been furloughed? What makes you think they won't do the same to Frontier?

Here is what I see them pulling:

IF RAH gets F9, they will act like everything is great for a short period of time, and then will come to the F9 groups with "your costs are too high, we want you to re negotiate your contract" When the unions don't give as much as they want, they will scale back F9 ops and fill the gaps with RAH iron and pilots. The smaller fleet will be more expensive and the dance will begin again, "accept cuts or else" and more jets will leave followed by more employees. Eventually F9 will vanish.

I'm sorry to paint such an ugly picture, but that is what they are doing to Midwest. Why would they do anything different to Frontier?

As for Boyd, I don't read him. Many people feel he has agendas that he pushes in his reports and is anything but objective. I think his choice of words (VIRTUALLY every market) is interesting. Why not "most", "all", 60% (or what ever the number is). Remember they are based in Evergreen. That's all I have to say on Boyd.

Personally, in the long run, I think they are better off with SWA over RAH no matter what.

Good luck to you and all the fine F9 folks. I hope in the end you are happy no matter which way it goes.
I want to add that I wasn't happy about Republic either. Until I heard about that, for the last 6 months I was under the impression Frontier was looking for "exit" financing. It never entered our minds that they would be bought. I just thought if they were able to secure that they would come out of bk.

I haven't talked to other F9 employees and my husband won't let me on the F9 boards (he doesn't read them and doesn't like me on them either) so I don't know how they are feeling.

Again, it still sucks!!

To be honest, I don't blame him for not reading or wanting you to read some of the other boards. With as emotional an issue as this is, I'm sure there are some extreme positions being posted there as well. Since it is in the hands of the courts we'll just have to wait and see if anyone else bids and who gets the prize known today as Frontier.

Like my wife is always telling me "things will work out the way they are supposed to."
