Yup. Continue to aid the regionals with our dues money as they grow into larger airplanes and become the next RAH. And if you don't agree to that, you're fostering disunity and the destruction of the profession. Unbelievable.

There is no disunity in attempting to make the Delta union focused ONLY on the pilots of Delta. Except in your world.

I'm glad you've come to grips with that Splash. You've been suckered by ALPA national long enough.

I'm assuming you're referring to the phrase, "there's a sucker born every minute"?

That's ironic, coming from an obvious ALPA supporter, whereas "National ALPA" actions could be anaolgized to the "Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus".

GJ

P.S. Not even claiming to be a DPA supporter..........yet! Just a "disheartened" ALPA dues payee that continues to have to read the ALPA apologists (you) post on the forum.

Yes, Carl, because having a bunch of really low paid and underrepresented pilots would have a great advantage to our careers, especially the junior pilots. There has never been a regional contract that forced bigger jets onto their property. Never will be. The fact is, that the best way to recapture the flying already lost is to make the costs of those pilots climb up to mainline levels or close to it.

But if we have to split off then why stop there? Shouldn't we have a Captains' union and a First Officers' union? How about a separate union for Atlanta and Detroit? Where does it stop?

It used to be said that ALPA was the reason for half of the dollars in your wallet -- the other half being what the company would willingly pay you if there were no union. But that was a long time ago.

Maybe the union should have it's own union - oh wait, it does, and it pays a lot better than being a garden variety line pilot, and you get weekends and holidays off to boot.

Please give an example of a single regional contract where the pay rates are near their mainline partner, where any flying has been recaptured , or where management has ever stopped trying to outsource.(Management parking 50 seaters because they are too expensive on a CASM/RASM basis is not ALPA's doing)

That's pure pie-in-the-sky. The regional's are important because you can now not get elected ALPA president without pandering to them. Even Moak loves them now.

Clueless and incoherent logic. This model has only served to destroy jobs at the majors. ALPA representing both sides has only served to continue this model.

Unresponsive straw man response to an argument that nobody is making.

No, the best way is for us to demand it back via collective bargaining. The regional pilots should raise their pay by collective bargaining paid for with their own dues...not the dues of Delta pilots.

Delta pilots represented by a union that is focused solely on Delta pilots. It's the ONLY way to go.

Not even you believe your own argument here.

That is a sad state of affairs. I imagine at some point it will become economical to hire lobbyists to go to DC and lobby our own union.
