No. DL posted that they AVERAGED 7000+ for pure civilian candidates.

TPIC? Put down additional duties? Flight department? Training? Safety? Union?

Been stuck in one seat? Had the option to change but didn't? I'd change a/c. Generates a new type rating, online app update, and it shows that you put yourself in front of an examiner again, recently, and passed.

You're fighting an computer program.

Here's a resume tip - type ratings are just that, unless they're xxx SIC type ratings.

Lots of guys have - CL-65 PIC, ATR-72 PIC, SF-340 SIC on their resumes.
It should be - CL-65, ATR-72, SF-340 SIC.

How many times have you officially stood in front of the recruiting teams and formally handed them a resume?

Does it hurt? No. Does it help? Yes. How much? They don't say.

There's plenty of people who've been hired who've said "I went to X(3,4,5,6)" job fairs. Highest I heard was 17. Sounds crazy. At a major now, ink still wet on his CA upgrade when he got hired. He says the effort was worth the reward. Retires <100.

Why? With (almost) 0 hiring from 2008-2012, due to age 65 and the recession, many pilots were stuck in their seats collecting flight time.

This seems to only apply to DAL and over 8kTT. There are always plenty of exceptions but your odds seem to decrease significantly past that mark. I don't know the reason but I've heard rumors about how the high time applicant is not as easily molded into their company culture.

Pure internet legend.

I challenge anyone to find a direct quote from someone DIRECTLY involved in hiring that confirms this...

Applies at UA as well. At the job fair was told that their ideal candidate has 5500 hours, above that it becomes harder to get hired, above 10,000 hours a lot harder. This is straight from the VP of Flight Ops. (I do know one person hired with 12,000 hours).

I don't understand, I'm only 35 and have just surpassed 8,000hrs. I'd imagine the majority of guys looking probably have that much time at least

I completely agree with you, and I'm in the same boat. It's nothing but frustrating. However, like I said, I heard this directly from the VP.
You fly airplanes painted in their colors for 10 years, doing everything asked of you, and now you're told you have too many hours. Meanwhile, your FO gets hired. What a crock.

That's in direct conflict with what BK said at WAI. He specifically stated that there is no discrimination of guys with more hours. He said it's all a point system and if you have enough you get the Hogan email. He also stated you do not lose points for having more hours you just stop gaining points and max out. ALL briefers that I saw stated that your hours are a very small portion of your app.
