A tale of two new hires. Let it be a warning.

Nice to see guys crapping on each other. I thought the FedEx forum was the only place. In a side note to cell phones.
Anyone tired of the woman driver talking on her cell phone as she backs up or tries to park in the parking lot? I can't tell you how many times I've almost been hit by some one while they are yakking on their darn phone. I'm not being sexist. Just look at people driving and talking, it mostly women.

"This thread reminds me of a great story. DAL has a former German Navy F104 pilot. He told me of a messed up two F104 over water run in on a surface contact . He was flying a 2-seat 104 and the radar operator was directing them in on this ship. They were very low (200') but still in marginal vfr. At the last second they see not a ship but a oil platform. The platform went between them as they pealed left and right. RTB, which means in this case Return To Bar. At the bar the Radar Officer was handcuffed to the brass rail, his credit card was "confiscated" and the squadron drank all night. Pit, the DAL pilot telling the story, said his squadron mate was lucky he was not beaten to death. (Hope I told it right Pit.) Sorry to all who are offended but to some professionalism is actually important."
Best story ever!

I don't see this as a crap on each other thread. I do see an apparently immature person getting riled up and becoming defensive because a good Captain actually expects and demands that First Officers pay attention to safely moving the aircraft. I'd have a beer with you too captjns. I'm astonished that there is even a single person who takes offense. Everyone, including the perpetrators, knows that it's a careless thing to do.

Vagbond,
Think you've been smoking a little too much of that (legal) cannibas in your state.
Post a single word of mine where I approved of a crewmember talking/texting during a critical phase of flight, or flight operation. (e.g. taxiing/flight planning) Don't think you can, but good luck trying to find it.

My problem was and still is with Captjns touting his "professional standards" - per company policy - and at the same time, taking it upon himself to "confiscate" someone's personal property. That practice is unacceptable, borderline bullying & I GUARANTEE YOU is also against Captjns's company policies.
Save yourself the time of writing a rebuttal. I'll PM anyone my personal address, telephone numbers and monthly schedule if they think they can get away with the bullying shiz with me.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Challenging folks to fisticuffs is not going to win friends or influence others.
