I agree that the NWA MEC is making the more favorable options less of a reality every day that they play their little games.
They should wake up and realize that their leverage is gone, and when it is said and done, they will be very unhappy with the lot they cast.
If they choose to play this out, it will be a few very bad years in the great white north.

They aren't playing games they are trying to protect seniority just as DALALPA is doing. Unless you're in the meetings then you dont know "exactly" what is going on with the "games" Both MECs know whats on the table and something will be figured out when its all said and done.

I honestly feel that there are not games being played. We proposed something that left all where they were before the merger. There were a few restrictions placed upon the MEC's from management that neither side could change. Because of this out proposal was about as good as you could get with out this DOH or dynamic seniority concept.

I wont try and debate what they are and arent discussing because i honestly dont know the "ideas". I have heard all kinds of ideas but until i see what is proposed to us its all pointless.

Man I can not believe what I read sometimes. Slowplay everytime I read your posts I think what a pompous jerk. If you want to justify what your mec is about to do go right ahead but make no mistake it's morally wrong. You guys get the equity/payraises while management takes our cash 3B plus the money gained from AirFrance/KLM. If the opposite was proposed I guarantee you that our mec would have shot that down in a heartbeat as repulsive and union busting. The fact that so many DAL guys are giddy over it shows your character. I would love for guys to come on up here to DTW and block our access to work while you picket for your premadonna positions. Come on up.

Opus, He doesn't speak for all DL guys and I would hope our MEC would do nothing of that sort. We need an SLI and both sides have to give to get this done right, we'll see.

That is the exact response that I am worried about. This will win no wars.
DAL's MEC argument is that they are CYAing themselves right now. Why? Because the deal is done, and all kidding aside they feel that there is little chance at coming to an amicable out come with the professional pilots of NWA.

I think that you know what I think about this.

Slowplay is trying to justify another version of CAL and EAL, I truly hope that isnt the way of DALALPA!

For the record I'm FAR from giddy. I don't like one bit what I feel we are being forced to do. It will have grave and long lasting consequences. That being said I do believe that it was/is the lack of wisdom and preparation on the part of the NWA MEC that has brought us here. I believe/hope that their is still time for us to get together on SLI and make something good for everyone.

On a more combative note, If you think the author of the "premium widebody flying" letter would not be considering the same thing if only he had the leverage to do so, I would submit that it would only be because he didn't think of it. I won't take moral sermons from the authors of one of the most contested SLI's in history.

That being said, the toothpaste seems to be very nearly out of the tube. Could we please get together on this before we make ALPA's goat sc#$w of the emergence of the RJ look like nothing by comparison.

Gentlemen,

It is incorrect and dangerous for anyone from both sides (DAL or NWA) to assume what is written here represents the opinions of all those from the other airline. I am not "giddy" about anything that advances our group over yours or that favors your side unfairly because of the ramifications we ALL will face down the road.

Respectfully!
