Really, July? Does he have his ATP?

A big part of the problem is there are so few EJET Sims in North America. There's one in DFW and about half a dozen in STL. We used to use a 190 sim in Toronto, but the FAA in their infinite wisdom decided it was too different from a 175 so we can't use that one anymore.

I had large gaps in my training, too but they did pay me.

And, the one in DFW is moving to PHX next week. So, we are stuck with the SIMs in STL until the one is PHX is recertified.

Everyone I know got paid for their gaps too.

You might ask him how his training is going. Typically, schedules get thrown off if more SIM sessions are required than planned.

Something is not right about your story because every single pilot I know got paid during breaks in training. One guy had trouble with cockpit access and they paid him the 6 weeks while the FAA sorted it out. It could also be as simple as an HR screw up.

Hmm, I stand corrected. It seems FSI has EJET Sims in DEN, CVG, SEA and SLC. I bet Skywest and Republic have them booked up for the next 3 years and that's why mesa doesn't use them.

Mesa normally uses CAE sims. It is my understanding that Embraer is providing the FSI SIMs due onboarding of new aircraft. I also think the backlog is due to increased FO hiring because of the TA approval and the $22,500 in bonus, and due to the snafu with the SIM instructors and SIM check airmen.

After the CAE sim is up and running in PHX, I expect that backlog to go down.

Your first day is considered after your drug test comes back “okay”. After that, you are paid - even if you are in CTP (unlike other regionals).

Thanks for the reply, I was for sure on that , but with all the negative BS I was wondering. I start on the 29th.
I assume you are a pilot with Mesa, calm winds?

What is the pay during training? Since I already have my ATP with plenty of hours (instead of the minimum), will I go through training faster than the average new hire?
Thanks
