Thanks for the reply, still deciding. That's exactly what I've been thinking, E175 and IAH base sounds good, PHX-IAH hows that commute? But on the CRJ at least there is a chance at some point to get to PHX.
Dallas also has love field with 3-4 flights to PHX on Southwest. And Dulles has a other airports within an hour Reagan and Baltimore with a few flights to PHX.

Not picking on them. Every airline has their pros and cons. They might have better pay but have other challenges. All depends on what you are looking for. That was more just to point out how bad that pilot shortage is. I thought it was a myth 3 years ago but after my recent search of the industry, looks like reality.

So that said, list your base preferences as 1.) PHX 2.) DFW 3.) IAD. You could probably get DFW right away, which would be just about as easy as IAH, and then after a month or two you're back home living it up in Phoenix.

I'd really advise against the E175 in your situation. Commuting for 1-3 months is insignificant when you can hold Phoenix so quickly. Don't commit yourself to an indefinite commute to IAH when you can be living in base for the vast majority of your FO career.

Just curious, but how would an in person interview complete with written test, Frasca, etc. have prevented Facebitten's situation? A phone interview is not much different than a face-to-face interview, and the interviewer can still gauge the personality type of the interviewee just as they would face-to-face.
This has everything to do with a new-hire making some sort of poor decision and got axed.

But HE is the one who came in here whining about it and engaging in libelous activity against a former employer and a chief pilot who anyone who works here knows is a solid, fair guy.

When they start flying 50 seat aircraft and the demand for pilots is significantly greater than the supply.
But, I mean, if you want to say regional pilots that got the job via an interview in person are better pilots, well, that's your prerogative.
When I was 'job shopping' I did a few face to face interviews. I can tell you I got a better feeling for the company, and they for me, in an hour long conversation with a recruiter than I did in my 12 minute in-and-out interview in CLT with PSA. It really doesn't set anyone apart when there is a full gouge available online.
Regardless, your whole "you don't even have an interview ELOHEL" argument is asinine anyway. I'm sorry, but we fly the same equipment, get paid in the same tax bracket, and face the same day to day issues. Get over yourself.
Winning at the special olympics still means you're competing at the special olympics.

Phone interviews for bottom of the barrel applicants flying 70 seaters is a joke.
